Eto pa! Yun bang pagdating mo nakitaan ka example na may hawak ka ipad na d mo naman ginagamit, then sa other table maririnig mo na may babanat ng I'm planning to bay an aypad! Ano bah difference ng wifi sa 3g?

Then may sasagot sa tanong nya as if sya na ang ipad expert. Lahat alam nya baka pati battery life alam nya kung ilang hours.

I agree on this (being discreet with one's DSLR in public); you only bring it out when its really going to be used.

    May former officemate kami, pinagpipilitan ang ingles-inglesan with her son. Pag pinapagalitan sa phone, panay english (i'll leave the grammar up to the grammar police nalang... hehe) pero sa tingin namin ng kasama ko, walang maintidihan yung anak (medyo sutil pa naman anak nun). She's the type na nakatikim lang ng luho, naging TH na ng tuluyan;

me kakilala ako, "kwintas" din DSLR...

actually she was a younger relative of wifey kaya medyo "bullish" ako somehow. (Para hindi SC, LOL)

Not really. Marami akong kakilalang may SLR lang talaga kasi binigay ng magulang nila kasi barya lang yun para sa magulang nila and they use it to take pictures of everything. Are they social climbers? I don't think so - after all, they're really rich people who don't need to prove their financial prowess. Hindi lang sila marunong gumamit.

    Si Shadow? :D

Pards, just keep in mind that what's discussed in this topic doesn't apply to everyone, everywhere, all the time. What's SC when done by some, is not SC when done by another; what's being brought up here are the extreme, obviously amusing cases.

You're/we're privileged to attend a good school where the students are comfortably well-off (not all, but a good number). Where things of class are the norm (hot girls, latest gadgets, nice cars, clothes, starbucks or milk tea every free time/study time, etc.... oh, and did i mention hot girls? ). When you start going out to the daily grind, you'll really notice the differences between those who carry it with no pretensions and those who carry it in hopes of trying their darnest to prove a point. My former officemate who i mentioned a few replies ago is a precisel example of the extreme. When she's in a conversation, a lot have noticed that she tries to put in the sosy things she has, where she went, etc... Hihirit pa na namomrobema pa siya that she has to get another Ipad dahil daw her kids are starting to fight over their Ipad. The irony of it all is this pa-sosy former officemate still relies on her parents (retired OFW) to make ends meet and still live can't afford to live on their own. Sadly, her husband is such a simple, nice guy and i heard they do get into problems because of her pa-sosy attitude which is getting overboard (nakalimutan na kung saan sila galing).

But yes, I also prefer a nice P&S when i go around. Basta it can take the type of shots we want with the manual settings (scenery, low light/no flash, fidgety kids who can't stand still for three seconds, etc.).

All in a bag...

yep. when you were in grade/HS you're surrounded with people from the same socioeconomic class so nothing's ever a big deal to everyone

normal lang ang kwentuhan kung saan bansa kayo nagbakasyon noong summer... kung ano mga nabili... na pina-tennis lesson ka... pina-piano lessons ka... no big deal... everybody goes to the same places... does the same things... buys the same stuff

pero pag college na you're thrown into a larger pool of people... people from different socioeconomic classes

    culture shock

things you take for granted are a big deal pala to other people... may sasakyan ka... you thought everybody has one... no big deal. yun pala nayayabanagan na ang ibang tao sayo hehe

since you were a kid surrounded ka na by other sheltered kids (may driver and yaya pa)... sobrang sanay ka sa ganyan you think everybody's like that

years and years of living in an insulated world suddenly nilagay ka sa real world

so you easily notice differences in people's behavior coz you evolved in a different world

you can easily distingusih SCs from your kind without even trying

little things like the way people speak (phonics, grammar) and manners...

things SCs usually overlook coz they're too busy imitating things like fashion and accessories and places to be

Though there are reasons why some use flash kahit daylight and they do it the right way.

Nope. So hindi yan considered as SC.

I call that doing it with class and high tech. Mas impressive yun kesa sa sossy SB planner, hahaha!

May reasons bakit SLR gamit at hindi PnS. Una is yun lang ang gamit nila. Alam naman ng lahat siguro na SLR can take photos better than a PnS. Pero if you have the right PnS at alam mo kung paano gamitin ito, then why use an SLR?

Bringing a DSLR, a camcorder, and a spare lens in a camera bag is back breaking...

But P&S can't get shots like this....
