I think it is likely the swarming ads around the webpage. Ganun din sa kin. Kung anu-ano nang tweaks to get a faster connection ang ginawa ko, ganun pa rin. Pati router ko nga ni-reset ko thinking na yun ang problem pero hindi naman. Minsan "problem loading page" pa lumalabas after signing-in.

There are just a lot of things in the screen (ads, chatboards). Kaya mabagal mag load add to the fact daming naka login at the same time...

Combination of factors... over 1000 users logged in at any one time, and a ton of java-scripts running, both as ads and forum features. I complained before when some of those features were disabled, but now I can see that they actually do pose a problem when too many people are accessing them at the same time.

I've had to resort to java-blockers to get it to actually work... it's still slow compared to other sites, but it's bearable. The Java-blockers still allow most of the ads, but somehow, excluding Javascripts enables tsikot to load faster.

it may be because of the adds and shoutbox. pero another thing is the server. kailangan daw ng server upgrade o mag dagdag ng extra server dahil masyado nang maraming mga members at threads. kaya daw mabagal ako mabagal din sakin parang meron na yatang thread nito. if i remembered it right its entitled 'slow load sa forums' or the like

If you have a high speed internet connection, such problem should not happen. Its not the problem of your computer but the speed of connectivity. This problem are most common to everyone na mabagal daw ang computer nila well, load time are depend on your bandwith connection AND the server whose HOSTING the WEB PAGE. If your bandwith is slow then your load will humongous, but if your bandwith is fine ( let say's 1 mb/s) load time is entirely on server.

I noticed that Tsikot.com is very fast in the earlier half of the morning until about 10am. After that it gets slower and slower. The worst time is around 3pm to 6pm where it's almost impossible to open more than a couple of pages successfully. I guess it is really the number of people accessing the site.

how come sa yahoo mabilis magload ang page nila wherein hundreds of thousands simultaneously ang nagvivisit ng website nila worldwide. nakakatamad tuloy pumunta ng tsikot.com dahil parang naka dial up ka... ano kaya kung yung mga dial up users ang mga nag login? aabutin pa ng bukas siguro nun. I think the tsikot management team should look into this, wag naman sana puro advertisements ang atupagin, kasi pag wala na magvivisit sa tsikot mawawalan na rin ng revenue IMO lang po...

Yahoo has hundreds or thousands of servers all over the world to handle the regional loads. Tsikot is just renting server space on yehey's system. No comparison.

Thanks for that info sir... may I ask what is the next step for tsikot.com to resolve this matter, aside from asking the members not to compare tsikot server space to others?

There is a scheduled system upgrade in June or July 2008. Beyond that I don't know if the tsikot.com gods have any other plans.
