Where do you guys learn to drive, from school or from someone in your family? My new car will arrive soon, but I am still thinking of either hiring someone like a friend or anyone who can teach me to drive or going to school. Just recently visited a local driving school and learned that they are charging 5000 bucks for a beginner's course. Is it really worth it?
- enroll in a driving school first
- hire someone to accompany you for a short period of time while drivng
- don't listen to driving myths (like revving your car before you shut down the engine)
i would still suggest you go to a driving school kasi di lang naman pagpapaandar ng sasakyan ituturo sa yo kundi pati road courtesy na din not to mention na they'll really train you to be a defensive driver. part na din ata ng package ang basic troubleshooting seminar ngayon sa mga driving schools.
imo, it's really better to go to a driving school first. they'll teach you the basics and i think they emphasize more the defensive side of driving which is good, of course.
ang mahirap kasi sa self-teach or sa kakilala lang matutunan mo rin yung bad habits like being a clutch driver, unneeded revving of engine etc..
my pop taught me how to drive (the basics) using an owner type jeep before (Willy's na malalaki, yung ginagamit ng mga kano sa gyera before...)
tapos, practice using a VW Beetle. you know its really hard to drive a beetle pag newbie ka.. hindi mo makita yung harapan, hindi mo makita yung side fender tapos, malalim ang upuan, walang power steering, iba ang transmission (lalo na sa reverse), ang tigas ng clutch, tapos ang lalim ng preno.
una, pa village village lang, tapos had the guts to go out of the main road.
tapos, during my baptism of fire, my pop and myself went to quiapo (ang trapik sa quiapo nun...). nung nakalabas kami ng quiapo nun ng walang tama yung sasakyan, that is where i got my license, tapos off i go na.
ako po sa A1 dn... pero before pa nun, medyo marunong na ako mag-drive... ok nga po sa A1, they'll even take care of your driving permit... 1st day on school, papag-drivin ka na.. wakeke..
eventually natuto din. got my nonpro when i was 17. inankin kona ung honda n ndadala kona sa school. those were the days when driving was filled with excitement! excited ako pag nauutusan ni mum padryv sa ganto ganyan, ngayon pag nagpapadryv, "ano!? un driver na! padryv nlg kyo!" haha
Ako sa Socialites. Me branch kasi sa loob mismo ng subdivision namin. We used a maroon Honda City Lxi. After my first day of driving school, sumumpa talaga ako na mataas yung bibilhin kong sasakyan para mas kita ko yung kalsada.
The advantage of a driving school is that objective ang tingin sa 'yo bilang estudyante.

bro, don't use your new car to experiment. I enrolled at Socialites last year just to learn how to use a manual trans. It was well worth it because I didn't have to worry about whether I'm gonna break it. The car is also MUCH safer because there's 2 brakes on the car, your instructor has access to the other one. Your instructor also have experience in teaching these things.
learned on my own..(with the help of drivers and my dad na napaka-backseat driver magpa-hanggang ngayon)..
used an owner -type jeep..
it's not as comfortable compared to learning on a car.
as suggested, i think it's best that you learn from a driving school.
..curious langko..me mga driving schools ba nagpapaupa sasakyan as in daily rental para sa mga bagitong drivers..?!..balak ko kasi ganon hanggat masanay siguro 1 week ok na..medyo kabado ako pagamit sasakyan ke bunsoy baka ibangga or isabit..daming implikasyon imho..
I just enrolled yesterday. I'm gonna start my driving lesson on Monday.
I really don't want to experiment with my new car or bump other car or properties either. Things that help me decide to go to school.
Maraming salamat sa inyong lahat!
xtech,
