No, Filipinos should know by now that they cannot rely their entire future on the government. Kahit sinong presidente ang iupo mo sa palasyo, solutions will not come overnight. Layers upon layers of poor governance will have to be undone before the desired results are achieved. And then sustaining those results for the long term is also another story. So what will the Filipino people do with their lives in the interim? Demand more from the government while refusing to determine their future for themselves? Nakakatawa, kasi habang maraming Pilipino ang nagrereklamo na nagugutom sila, mas maraming Pilipino ang nakakayanan pang mamasyal sa mall tuwing Sabado, Linggo at holidays. Bukod pa yan sa sandamakmak na mga tao tuwing may sale. If things were indeed so bad, these businesses would have folded years ago.

Kailangang baguhin ang Pilipino more than the government, in the sense na hindi na dapat magpabola ang mga mamamayan sa mga pulitiko. We have such a short memory after 1986, kaya hindi tayo tinatantanan ng mga problema. If we were to use People Power against the Arroyo administration today, that would be the second time (after Erap) that we have proven to ourselves and the world that we never learned from our mistakes.

i don't really understand that people keep on blaming the past leaders... think our future... our childrens' future. kung di ko man maramdaman yung pag angat ng pilipinas kahit papano ayaw ko rin problemahin ng mga anak ko kung ano pa ang pinoproblema ko.

kaya kung may kalokohan nangyayari sa gobyerno...dapat putulin agad.

parang sakit sa ating katawan... pag meron tayong nararamdaman kakaiba... pa check kaagad tayo sa clinic...pag may nakitang sakit...iinom agad ng gamot para hindi na lumala.

ganun din naman sa oto natin... inaalagaan natin yan, halos araw-araw natin ginagamit...kung pwede lang araw-araw din ang carwash..di po ba? pag may konting marinig lang na kakaiba...papa check din agad natin sa suking talyer o mekaniko...para maagapan at di na tuluyang masira.

eto lang naman ang gusto nating mangyaring lahat eh...ang malayo sa kapahamakan.

Pardon me for saying so, but I count this as one of the worst attitudes that we as a people have. You might as well tell the Jews that 'past is past', where the Nazis are concerned. You might as well tell the comfort women that 'past is past', where the Japanese soldiers are concerned. The past may be gone, but it should by no means be forgotten. History exists not so we can merely look at it behind a glass case, but so we can continually learn from its mistakes when we have to. Yung ganyang ugali ang dahilan kung bakit nakabalik sa Pilipinas at sa gobyerno ang mga Marcos; lagi na lang idinadahilan ng mga Pilipino na nakalipas na ang lahat. Ako, I will never tire of telling my children, my grandchildren and great-grandchildren about the darkness that Marcos brought to this country, and that they should always be vigilant so that such a period never occurs again.

Naaunawaan ko naman ang iyong mga sentimiyento. Kanya nga lang, hindi sing-simple ng pagpapagamot ng katawan o pag-aayos ng oto ang pagpapatakbo sa isang bansa, na kung may diperensiya sa kalagitnaan ay gustong baguhin agad. Hindi kailangan indahin ang sakit kung inaalagaang mabuti ang katawan. At hindi kailangang indahin ang maling gobyerno kung sa halalan pa lang, nakabantay na tayong mga mamamayan. Hindi yung kung kailan nakaka-isang taon pa lang, konting kibot lang eh, gusto na natin ng iba.

Kung hindi rin lang tayo makapaghintay bilang isang bansa sa susunod na halalan, aba'y tigilan na natin ang pagdaraos nito kada anim na taon. Idaan na lang natin sa sigaw kung sino ang pipiliing pangulo ng bansa. Gaya ng minsan ko nang nabanggit, kung hindi natin mababantayan bilang sambayanan ang ating mga demokratikong proseso, karapat-dapat lang sa atin ang sinumang pangulo na uupo bilang resulta ng isang huwad na halalan.

Sa dami ba naman ng lawyer sa Kongreso, bakit wala pang kaso na nafa-file laban kay GMA? Impeachable offenses lahat ng ito eh.

Exactly. The opposition will never win by legal means. Remember when Sammy Ong first surfaced, who was there during the press conference? Rez Cortez, a known supporter of the opposition! Doon pa lang, kitang-kita na ang motibo. And Ong himself has an ax to grind because his personal interests were not accomodated by the administration.

Kaya I'm not expecting another popular revolt anytime soon, considering the kind of people who stand to replace the current government. And quite frankly, they shouldn't even be considered as a viable alternative.

The present palace occupant have learned her lesson of not to let any people power succeed again, like sharing the loot, so any one can't point the finger because it will some way point back to them. What we have is a smart political animal trained by her father and made a monster by the arrogant elite minority who were shocked by having someone as president who is not their own kind. Its not a question of who to blame, but a look at the present reality, that crook in the palace is even bigger than erap, trying to beat FVR's record, and someone who can lie with a straight face, greed is the essence of her being. As Mr. Boo Chanco of the Star says, we are succeeding inspite of her, so she is the rock that pulls us down, the economist politician who puts her own interest first and is good at covering up her dirt. She has to go soon or we will remove her even if it means her demise. The political pot is boiling, to be cooked soon are the people in power if they don't put out the fire.
