It may look silly but normally find ourselves talking to "ourselves". Pero these are the times na nasa isip lng natin and we dont speak aloud.
As for my case, ako lang ang Filipino sa group nmin at nakakasawa na din mag english just to talk to somebody. Minsan pag may iniisip tayo during times na nag iisa lang tayo (like while driving), may mga sinasabi tayo sa sarili natin.
Is this really normal? Are there any psychological/scientific reasons for this?

I usually talk to myself everytime I lift weights. just to psyche myself up if I'm lifting really heavy.
sometimes from time to time in other situations, I do it just to calm myself down although I try not to let other people notice it. sometimes, they catch me muttering to myself.. probably think of me as some crazy-assed nutjob..

I talk to myself all the time. It started when I started driving from coast to coast alone when I was still young and single. 3-4 days alone in a car was enough to drive me mad if I didn't talk at some point.
Then, that passed on to work. Sometimes on a tough day, I'd talk aloud. My coworker would sometimes ask, "Are you trying to talk to me?" I'd reply, "Nope. I'm just being INSANE. Lemme alone".
At home, I dare not talk to myself. With all the lewd thoughts going on in my brain...... too dangerous. Wife might hear or worse, the kid.

I think it's perfectly normal as long as you don't do it when you already have someone to talk to...
THERE is an average words per day that has to come out of our mouth and if we don't do it then we begin talking to ourselves.
It's the same thing with me, sometimes I get to work with all these Australian guys for weeks and there's not much to talk about especially most of the times I am alone in my office.
BTW, just keep it low :-)

I think it is perfectly normal for as long as you know when to stop.
I do this most of the time when I am driving alone over long periods of time to keep me awake and alert. I also do this under extreme pressure so that I can properly assess the current situation and make the right decisions. I do this in private. Not near anyone.
When with my team,- I think aloud.

Better ask OB. He's the ultimate authority on schizophrenia, hehehe.
Seriously, I don't think there's anything wrong with it. The problem begins when "yourself" answers back, and begins to have a mind of its own...tee hee hee
