wait guys..
so you mean...
from manila to puerto gallera...there is a way na pwede dalhin ko ang aking beloved monzter?
how?
Seriously, you take your ride to the Batangas port and load it on the ferry to Mindoro. You can actually drive to Boracay by leaving your ride in Caticlan (although saan kaya pwede mag park na safe?)... I'm thinking of doing that trip sometime as well with my pick-up.
On safety, one basic rule on the road if you're not familiar with the place is to just drive from sun-up till around 5pm in the afternoon. Once it starts to get dark, try to find a place to hole out for the night (tryto research on the good places to stay beforehand).
Sir Glenn, from manila to puerto gallera...there is a way na pwede dalhin ko ang aking beloved monzter?
There are roro ferryboats plying the route of Batangas pier directly to Puerto Galera. Or another option po ay take the Batangas Pier-Calapan City route ng mga roro ferryboats. Then from Calapan City, travel by land to Puerto Galera. That's 40+ kms. (about 1 hr) trip.
Ok tsikot guys lets hit the ROAD, and Sail the SEA....mag set na kayo ng Long Driver sama ako dyan??? Basta by JUNE pa hehehehe Lets go to boracay with our RIDES....
mangyan,
w/c is the shorter route from manila to puerto gallera?
go to batangas city then ride the ferry to puerto gallera?
saan ba ok mag-stay dun?
guys punta tayo bago boracay para ma try before long trip :D
hybrid,
From Manila, biyahe kayo ng 110 kms. hanggang Batangas City pier. Doon sa pier, may biyahe ng roro ferryboats that will bring u directly to Puerto Galera. That's the shortest route to Puerto Galera. Pero I suggest u take the roro plying the route of Batangas to Calapan City.
So, from Batangas pier, take the roro going to Calapan City. Then from Calapan City, u have to travel 47kms to puerto Galera by land.
Madami ng nagsitubong bagong resorts since then. If u want to have a secluded and private place with ur family, then I suggest u go to TALIPANAN side.
Any clear details. Interested talaga akong pumunta taking my rides.. Baka merong naka byahe na from Batangas to Caticlan.. using Nautical Highways... Share nyo naman yung mga Distance from one place to another.
mangyan, jaycrew,
meron ba kayong contact numbers ng roro, so we can get details like schedule ng ferry and to reserve para sure sa sked
mangyan,
1.You have to get a PNP clearance b4 you go straight sa batangas pier
2. Dont forget to bring an extra photo copy of your CR and OR
And, crossing bicol to samar, maliwanag na nakasulat sa wall, 2 procedures lang, present photocopies of OR and CR (bring the orig in case may contest) pay corresponding fees, next proceed sa roro vehicle scheduler.
One thing I always do, nakawax ang car ko, and may baon na extrang tubig pangtangal ng seawater.
oscity,
sir, last time na magtawid ako ng sasakyan(last JAN), hindi ako hinanapan ng PNP clearance. On and off po ang pagre-require ng PNP clearance. Pero para sa akin dapat i-require ang clearance to prevent carnapped vehicles from escaping or entering the province.

Last 1999 nag travel kami from Manila to Koronadal in South Cotabato. We took the RORO twice, first at Matnog then in Liloan on our way to Surigao. The succeeding port just stamp the paper ala passport. Bring extra copies of OR and CR or an authorization letter if the vehicle is not yours (tebats, take note).
Tips ko lang:
1. don't park your car near the stairs of the RORO, otherwise you'll end up having scatches from the luggages and bags brought by the passengers. And know when you are near the destination so you can go down to your car without squezzing with bus passengers.
2. I don't discourage travelling at night if...
3. ...you keep your car in tip top shape. There are place especially fishing boats at sea with their "lampara" that is a sight to behold.
4. Be courteous to the locals. don't be too flashy.
5. take note of gas stations, vulcanizing shops as you go along. who knows you might have to make a U for repairs.
6. always smile at check points, although we didn't encountered any.
7. Always gas full tank whenever you can preferebly in a city.
8. bring food (can, instant mami) and lots of drinking water
9. on the way back use a different "main" route (this is for the adventrous)
I'm planning on taking the nautical highway up to Boracay with my wife next year.
I have a fear of flying.
The "older" guys at the diesel forum is planning this too. Baka sumabit kami sa kanila :wink:Originally Posted by NightRock
