Recently rediscovered my Digital Audio Player. A Sony A20 series player.

I've filled those with all my music collection ripped from my audio CDs.

So do you still buy your music i.e. vinyl, CD, tape?, or it's digital version via Amazon or iTunes? Too bad Google music is not available yet in PH. (This week I've bought 5 albums via iTunes and transferred it to the Sony Walkman)

Or do you just stream music online?

Also do you have a dedicated music player/component/setup at home or just use your phone? Still using those iPods? Or shifted already to iPhone X?

So my phone now is free of music. Only retained podcasts for easy syncing.

Although I'm using my iPod 16GB and my LG V10 as my current portable players, I still look to adding to my vinyl collection especially once I've restored my turntable setup. Nothing beats the joy of plunking your needle to the record and really listening to the music. But... that's just me. And I still go to CD sales from time to time. So, yes I still buy my music only if I have some physical medium to hold on to.

I listen mostly to classic rock FM stations. If I hear a particularly good song I like, I then search for it in YouTube.

When I said buy, I mean sirs and ma'ams na you own the music.

Iba rin business model ng streaming music like Spotify and Apple Music. Basically you buy the access to music. But technically the music ain't yours. It's akin to the difference between a purchase cost and a service expense.

classic! between the two, I'd really like the cassette tapes lol.
i missed the tape deck days; the joy of unboxing the cassette case and smelling the cover, going over with the artists' compilation and song lyrics at the back!
then came the CD era; efficient, reliable, and more rigid. sound quality may not lose its consistency over the years. wag lang ma-expose sa init at magnetic field. now i burned my Fleetwood Mac, Def Leppard, Pet Shop Boys, U2, 10000 Maniacs, OMD, etc.....and store it in my hard drives, USB, PC, and phone.

I visited a friend in China who is an audiophile. Nung nasa kusina kame kumakain, pumunta sya sa living room.

Bigla may kumanta. Akala ko may bisita sya na singer. When I checked, he played music from a CD pala tapos tube amps gamit nya. Akala ko live yung tunog sobrang ganda. That's how I learned about tubes. Learned lang. Kasi when I asked how much, di ko na pinangarap magkaroon.

Need not be. You don't have to spend an arm and a leg to enjoy vinyl (or CD) music. There's now a lot of affordable turntables aside from those vintage ones. That goes for the amps too. You can get a good setup for less than Php30k. That's only about a good DSLR without lens nowadays.
