Didn't DPWH already order that roadworks be done 24x7 ?

I dunno sir. Not sure if its the local govt or nat'l to blame. Or maybe the contractors. Yung mga dinaanan ko kasi halo halong main roads at residential/back roads. But still. Kanina lang dito sa may masinag gridlock na ung papuntang marcos highway. Kung ganon ka busy ang road na titirahin dapat round the clock ang trabaho. SMH.

Hayup na bpi phone banking ito. You are forced to wait for the recorded instructions to end with the beep before you can key in your choice. Tapos antagal pa magreply ng phone banker. Buti na lang may speakerphone and landline namin.

24/7 nga. but the dpwh guy says that they still have to wait for good weather. he says that asphalt won't be good if they are laid down on wet surface.

^ Kung ganun...baka Q4 na nila magagawa yan

In this administration's infra push, maybe they should stop using asphalt and insist on concrete. Granted, when properly applied, asphalt can be durable...history would suggest nobody here can seem to apply it right. And the washed out asphalt ends up in our sewers, further aggravating the flooding.

There's a youtube video entitled " De Lima Nagresign na sa Senado" ... it's just a news clip from 24 Oras w/ Mike Enriquez. It has fooled 1.8m people so far -- pati yung nanay ko.

The things people do to get ad revenue, eh?

Office staff who are too onion skinned and can't take criticisms. When you tell them they've done wrong work wise and need to wisen up next time, they'll take it against you personally.

Some of them. But I'd expect that. I'm surprised and shocked some are in their mid30s yet act as if their still college students. Worse, high school students. In a work force where everyone is expected to behave like adults and professionals. [emoji33]

Don't you have an SOP (Standard Operating Procedures) binder that regulate not just all the processes and methods used at work, but also the standards that govern appearance and behavior of employees?

In any case, what are the supervisors and managers doing to guide and develop their subordinates?

My philosophy on the whole thing is to guide and train those under me so that they become my eventual replacements.

Yep that's my philosophy also *jun. My goal is always to make myself obsolete. By doing so, that means I have trained or did my job properly in the sense that the next one who will replace my job is able and skilled enough to do things properly.

I work in the journalism industry where sometimes many think big of themselves or have big egos and can't accept criticisms. Can't separate professional work with personal. Then you'll be frustrated because some are "tumatandang pabaligtad" meaning they grow old but they "mature" the opposite way. An old Filipino idiom.

I don't exactly make myself obsolete. I learn new things all the time to keep myself competitive. But, I know there will come a time when I will retire from the workforce. I have to make sure there is continuity so that my section operates effectively in accordance with the organization's strategic vision.

The key word is continuity. I have to make sure the transition is seamless and I won't be missed when I leave.

Usually, you discover a person's true color pag tumatanda na. Most of them be parang nag-rerebelde pag tumanda and then they turn into this crab mentality monster

No matter how good you were or how many people who helped in your life time, if you turn like this when you're 60 up balewala lahat yun mga maggandang nagawa mo coz all of it was just surface acting

In our company if you make yourself "obsolete", you will lose your job. Right now they are cutting jobs. Employees over 50 are let go unless that person has a specialization or is considered a key man. The corporate world is harsh

^ In some cases they'd rather hire less skilled, but cheaper, younger employees rather than retain the more seasoned ones who can do the jobs of 2-3 new hires. Seems to make sense to management though -- they treat employees like interchangeable parts.

Sinasabihan ko yung kapatid ko, watch out ka na -- kaliwa't kanan yung pag offer ng early retirement sa opisina nila

That is what they are doing, I myself almost lost my job as it was transferred to India. I owe my boss in HQ a lot as he defended my position and said either it stays in Manila or goes to HQ. The others weren't so lucky...
