Re the freon ban on older cars...
what happens to the CFC gas when u have it replaced at the car aircon shop?
Where does the aircon shop dump the ozone-depleting CFC?
Do they just release it into the air?
Or do they store it in an air tank, process it and dispose of it in an ozone-friendly manner?
If they just release the CFC freon into the air, doesnt it defeat the purpose of protecting the ozone layer?

May 25th, 2006 03:01 PM #7Well, in a 3rd world country like ours this is understandable... but at least it will halt the further production of CFCs. That's the least our country can do since saving the environment is the least of our concerns where many still can't eat a decent meal thrice a day.
