    .. i'm a sharp fan...
    kahit hindi inverter.
it runs only when we do the laundry, which is just a couple of times a week for about an hour per.

That LG is our current washing machine, ₱15k sa ansons. Also more compact than our Samsung given na 8 kgs lang yung Samsung. Although sabi nung sales man eh mas compact na daw talaga washing machines ngayon. img_20220219_111650_1.jpg

I eventually pulled the trigger on the TCL 7kg front-load inverter washer for around P16k. Interested in finding out how much electricity it uses, I installed a power meter.

On average, it only uses around P3.00 worth of electricity per wash cycle (using P12.00/kWh rate). It also uses significantly less water than a top-load unit.

It's been exactly a week ago since I installed the meter. Since that time, the washer has clocked in a total of 14 hours of use. (That clock only runs when there's significant power draw). So exactly after a week of use, it only used up around 1.62kWh or less than P20.00 worth of electricity.

Where can I buy that power meter?

Thanks! I'm glad it's not expensive! I'm so excited to find out how each appliance costs to run.

New models will have better features than the old ones they replace ... with LG, direct drive motors are more compact than belt driven models ...

    i still avoid front-loaders.
from my readings, "they leak, eventually."

From my reading, this is more true with older front-load washers. Modern units have better-designed door gaskets and so, are less prone to such.

Anyway, everything is susceptible to wear and tear.. top OR front-loaders. Our LG top-loader has had two major repairs.... First time, the clutch/gearbox was replaced while the 2nd time involves replacing the motor.

Natuloy din ang pagpurchase ng FAWM. Panasonic 7kg non-inverter.

Question lang. Pano nyo nililinis yung washing machine after gamitin? More on weekly/monthly tub hygiene lang ang nakalagay. Tsaka any other tips sa paggamit nito? So far, Normal mode pa lang nagamit ko.

Kung may soap residue naiiwan after your wash, two possible reasons:
    1. You're using too much soap for the load
    2. The soap produces too much suds

Eto natutunan ko when we switched to a new front-load (might also apply to newer top-loaders)...

Look for laundry detergents with the High Efficiency (HE) logo. These are designed for washers that uses less water. They don't produce as much suds as traditional laundry soap so they rinse better and leaves little to no residue on clothes or the tub. Works well even if your washer does not call for HE detergents.

Use less detergent ... 1-2 tablespoons per 4 kg ... adjust accordingly ... most washing machines have tub clean mode ... you can also buy washing machine cleaning tablet ... or make your own using vinegar and baking soda ... also avoid using fabric conditioners ...

Another method of avoiding residues is to just put / pour the detergent directly onto the laundry ... and if using the delay mode (timer), you must not use liquid detergent as it will just drip into the machine ...

Where do you buy HE detergent ... kind of hard to find decent ones ...

For regular cleaning, vinegar will do. As per instructions on my unit, it calls for the mode to be set to tub cleaning and the water temp to the highest (95°C).

I do this once a month. But since switching to a liquid HE detergent, I might be able to extend that to every 60 days or longer as it doesn't leave any soap scum.

But this being a front-loader, we leave the door open when not in use so any standing water can evaporate.

Wouldn't those liquid detergent and fabcon inlets actually intended for that use?
I always use those inlets in every wash (except when using powder detergents).
What the manual cautions is about using bleach. Have to wash daw after every use.

Not sure if I'm using too much or too little.
They use 'scoop' or tablespoon as measure pero gaano ba kalaki yung scoop or kapuno yung tablespoon.

What I do is to thoroughly mix the liquid detergent by pouring it directly on the tub and setting it to wash for 1/4 water level. After about a minute of churning, that's when I start the washload.
