We just got an LG front-loading 6kg inverter washing machine to replace our 5 year old top-loading washing machine.

Nice and compact. Ang bigat pala nito. Had a challenging time moving it to the wash area.

So far so good naman. Napakatahimik

Washing machine lang no dryer? The spinner should be enough if you have sampay space. Minsan nga hanger sa kwarto with aircon overnight tuyo na in the morning.

Mabigat yan because of the counterweights in the drum. Kawawa nga yung Anson's delivery napasubo inakyat ng 3 floors through narrow staircases. Binigyan ko na lang tip

Yes, spin dry lang. Wala talagang dedicated dryer. For our purposes, okay lang at may sampayan space naman kami, both outside and indoors (in case it rains)

Buti naman dito, street level lang from the back of the house ang wash/utility area. Well. from the street may 4 small steps lang going up so manageable pa rin.

One possibility was that the inlet valve solenoids that let in just a little bit of water are not closing properly. One solenoid provides the water to create the steam that does the actual drying. The other solenoid cools the tub down.

Bought a Php1,600 inlet valve from my favorite online shop and it arrived in a week from abroad. For units with 4 inlet valve solenoids I only found one store online that had it. The more common ones have 3 at most.

Replaced the inlet valve. Same issue. Some pulling of non-existent hair commenced.

Went back online again and someone suggested that the water level sensor might be blocked. The sensor is at the top of the machine and it's connected to a hose at the bottom of the tub. Tried blowing the hose out and something was stuck in there. Poured some Datu Puti vinegar in the hose and after a few seconds blew it out again. Finally heard bubbles coming from the tub so I guess that cleaned it out. Poured the remaining two liters of vinegar in the tub and ran a clean cycle.

Next test wash failed but the good thing was it was reporting an outlet error while spinning. Since I knew the machine hoses were clean and the pumps were working I checked downstream. The extension pipe was full of mud and lint. Cleaned it out and tried drying. Fail

Back on the interwebs I went and after reading about why I should have chosen separate machines for washing and drying instead of an all-in-one, I found a snippet saying that the inlet valves should have restrictors that only allow a trickle of water in for the steamer and tub cooler. I remembered checking the bootleg inlet valve and noticed that the tub cooler inlet did not have a restrictor.

Out went the replacement inlet valve and back in went the stock valve. Nail biting commenced while the first load ran. Success! 2nd load was also good. Now running a third load.

TL;DR: Gunk stuck in the water level sensor kept the drain pump from running during the spinning and driving phases. Dissolving the blockage with vinegar and blowing it out fixed the issue.

    Lessons learned:
    - use the correct detergent and fabric softener
    - do not use too much detergent and fabric softener
    - run the tub clean cycle religiously
    - if things go downhill again then I know what to check first next time
Grats!!! You're now a certified tech, brother John![emoji120][emoji106]
My ancient yankee nonCVT Whirlpool has been loyal & true. I dread the day he'll finally retire. I only serve him nothing but soft water & liquid detergent+softener...regularly run cleansing cycles, too. The enamel body & lid are slowly seeing corrosion, those will someday be addressed w/ fabricated plastic copies.

    Pwede na pang-sideline

It's similar to a car engine with its intake, outlet, load, ECU, and assorted sensors. The big problem initially was that it was not showing any errors. LG is understandably not distributing the schematics for free.

And based on the parts it looks like only the tub motor is a DC inverter. All the solenoids and pumps are still 220v AC.

You plan to mod it for better reliability & serviceability?[emoji4][emoji120][emoji106]

Barring a mainboard failure at least I know where all the main components are and what to check when something goes wrong again.

    OVT?

Barado ang water level sensor hose kaya di umaandar ang drain pump while drying.

Had a problem with 2 Panasonic top-loading non-inverter machines. 1 is an 8.5-kg machine that I bought June last year and the other is a 6.0-kg machine that I got my parents last Christmas.

Same problem on both units: a clicking noise every time the pulsator spins during the wash cycle. We're sure nothing's getting caught in the tub.

Anyways, I'm just sharing this info because this may be a problem that is common to Panasonic (at least for the non-inverter line of washing machines).

Customer service has so far been okay. Thank goodness both are still under warranty.

we have a fully-manual panasonic washing machine.
we also hear that clicking sound, every time the direction reverses.
    since new.
    probably a reversing switch.
we didn't pay attention to it anymore, as function did not seem compromised.
but we have since sidelined it, for a fully automatic sharp. yung literalmenteng "walk away and come back after an hour", once set.

Yes, doc that's exactly what's happening to our washing machine.
I forgot to mention that the machines in question are fully automatic.

once we go automatic, we'll wonder why we did not go there sooner, even as the additional cost is significant.
    the convenience is unbelieveable.

Kami baliktad. We had automatic washing machines since the 90s. When the last one conked out a few years ago, i replaced it with a manual.

Sometimes i miss the automatic. Mas matagal lang service life ng non automatic washing machines. Less electronics, less headache. Abundant parts too!

    once in a while,
when we are in too much of a hurry to drain,
hinihiga na lang namin ang manual machine.

What is the difference between a fully automatic and manual washing machine? (I am planning to buy one) Manual = dial? Automatic = digital?

yes po Ms. Cathy.. Sa fully automatic kasama na yung dryer sa program nya.. May program pa na after nya mag full wash and dry, pwede na itupi yung damit diretso from washing machine..

Please suggest washing machine.
