wow...pintaubo naman ngayon....uli. hope it won't develop into something more sinister.

i remember inakyat namin iyong pinatubo nung bago-bago pang bukas siya sa public more than a decade ago. nakalangoy pa ako sa crater lake niya (although i understand bawal na daw ngayon) pero nasira tyan ko kasi nakalunok ako ng crater water na i guess puno ng sulfur.

i recommend everyone to visit the pinatubo crater once she settles down again. hindi naman ganun ka taxing iyong lakad. ibang majesty ng nature doon sa tuktok.

What is happening to the world?

Aside from Pinatubo being restless now, a volcanic just erupted this week in Indonesia.

Indonesia has a lot of volcanoes. If the Philippines has 300 volcanoes (most are inactive and only 24 active), Indonesia has over 300 active volcanoes, at any given day as many as 5 are actually erupting!

If Pinatubo will become an active volcano, pano na kaya yung New Clark City? Clark Airport?

Make that 25, and a walking one at that, spewing toxic materials once a week during evenings.

It is active, pero if it erupts definitely may ash fall iyan but it may not be (hopefully) as destructive as it was when it woke up from a 600 year slumber.

    it IS an active volcano!

the late dr. punongbayan said, "when nature does its thing, the best we can do is to get out of its way".

pinatubo did in a flash, what congress could not do for decades.

Climbed Pinatubo and stayed overnight before. Super cold even if summer. Got to swim in the crater lake as well.

Very fun and generally low-effort hike and peaceful at night for campers.

Ano kaya ang magiging findings dito?

Seems too sudden, surprising considering wala ng alert level sa Pinatubo

funny that they're touting the New Clark City as "disaster resilient" when it's sitting right beside an active volcano
