    Philippine-designed, proudly made...in Chinese-Taiwan!

Philippine Navy - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

    Multi-purpose Attack Crafts (MPAC)

The Philippine Navy received the first batch of three (3) Philippine-designed, Taiwanese-built[18] Multi-purpose Attack Crafts (MPAC), which is similar to the Swedish Combat Boat 90. These were presented during the 111th Anniversary of the Philippine Navy in May 2009.[19]

The boats are around 15 meters long and are equipped with a water jet system. It has a maximum speed of 40 knots (74 km/h) and could reach around 300 nautical miles (560 km) while traveling on a transit speed of 30 knots (56 km/h). It is made of welded aluminum and can carry 16 fully equipped soldiers and 4 crew members or a payload of 2 tons. The ships are armed with one 50-caliber machine gun and two 7.62mm machine guns.[20]

Another MPAC was received during the 114th anniversary celebrations of then Navy on 22 May 2012,[14] with more units expected for delivery in the near future, with the bidding for the 2nd lot of 3 units already done.[21]
But the latest one is proudly made locally...honestly!

It's an ASSAULT craft designed to land and support Marines on beaches and riverbanks like the CB90 it was based on:

The low door in the bow is also helpful in plucking people from the water.

    They're made in Cebu

    ayos yan.
    nadagdagan ng 3.

i-maintain lang ng maayos. baka kasi mabulok lang, at sabihin ng navy, walang budget sa maintenance.

The boat looks to have a shallow draft.

Just wondering how well it would handle choppy open waters?

Not designed for open seas. Inter-island pwede. There was a pic of two of them rescuing people from a capsized ferry.

    Found one:

I won't envy the crew IF it's deployed here:

    Subic pala not Cebu

"The Philippine Navy's 15th newest "Multi-Purpose Attack Craft" (MPAC); Specification: 16.5 meters long, 4.76 meters wide and has a draft of one meter and a top speed of 45 knots. It has a range 300 nautical miles. Hull is made of welded aluminum. Crew of one officer and four enlisted personnel. Capable of carrying 16 fully-equipped troopers or two tons of cargo. Capable of operating in territorial waters up to "Sea State 3" (slight waves) without any system degradation. All-Filipino designed and built watercraft by Propmech Corporation of Subic Bay, Zambales."

How far away is Scarborough again?

This is the one I'm waiting for:

Philippine Navy to sign contract for MRVs this July - ZamboTimes
