Classes at all levels in public and private schools in Metro Manila will remain suspended on Wednesday, Education Secretary Jesli Lapus said Tuesday.
At the same time, Lapus said the Department of Education will leave it to local government units to decide when to lift the suspension on classes.
"Lahat ng antas ng paaralan publiko at pribado sa NCR, wala pa ring pasok bukas. Patuloy ang suspension natin dito sa NCR (Classes in all levels in public and private schools in Metro Manila will still be suspended Wednesday)," he said in an interview on dzBB radio.
He noted that local officials in other areas such as Marikina City already decided to suspend classes until Friday.
Lapus said at least 140 public schools have been used as evacuation centers for some 9,000 families affected by tropical storm "Ondoy." - GMANews.TV
