    hello fellow tsikoters..

question, my sister is renting a 2 floor house apartment and when we visit the place, we notice that some of the walls has very tiny single hairline long cracks... are those cracks dangerous? we're thinking that the apartment might collapse or something.

    sorry just being paranoid..

    TIA

Normal yan sir.

    it would depend.
kung concrete and buhos, ok lang yan.
kung hollow blocks, sooner or later those cracks will get bigger.

Are these load bearing or non-load bearing members? Which part of the building? You can use the "coin tap method" to see if it is just the plaster that came loose. If the concrete was disturbed while it was curing or dried prematurely it will develop hairline cracks

of course we cant see here the actual load of the said apartment/building so may i suggest you have it checked with a licensed structural engineer to check the integrity of the building if you are really worried.

ano poba dapat gawin dun? hayaan nalang and wait until it get worst? or have it fix? or look for another aprtment for rent? hehehehe..

    TIA mga pre..

You're just paranoid. Check mo nalang kung pasok sa building and structural code ung apartment. Basic stuffs like the proper width of the walls, etc. Relax lang bro.

Agree you are just paranoid. On a worst case scenario may reinforcing bars naman iyan kung bibitaw semento di naman agad malalaglag yan. Except otherwise through act of god/nature na ayaw natin pareparehas mangyari.

Sir, ok Lang Yan. Nothing to worry about.

Yung tipong parang lumobo or naging ***y na Yung wall. Load bearing or not, may palitada lahat Ng cement pero kung sobrang worried ka, call a structural engr. It will cost unnecessary expense but if it would help you and your family sleep better...

Normally sa superficial cracks lang ginagamit epoxy injection and what is commonly used are for aesthetic treatment and/or water proofing due to cracks. Pero it is non load bearing epoxy.

Since your sister is renting out the apartment, why not report your concern to the owner of the house for them to properly handle it sir? HTH and just my 1cent idea. good am.
