I don't think he prepared his speech personally --- which is usually the case for CEOs of companies like PLDT. He could have but it is more likely that someone else did. I mean, would you normally check the text and content of your speech on the internet for something similar?

So, he probably didn't have any inkling that what he read to the graduating Class of 2010 was copied from other sources. But, the important thing is that MVP acknowledged the mistake and admitted to it despite the flak he's going to get for it.

More likely, that guy would've already tendered his resignation for this fiasco.

    ya i know

people of his position do not write their own speeches

i'm just looking at it from the view of the general public (who sees the speaker as far more important than the one who wrote the speech)

how this event affects his image

it definitely affects people's perception of him

next time he gives a speech...

    hehe

The knowledge that you have emerged wiser and stronger from
setbacks means that you can be secure in your ability to survive.
MVP should now take this "copied" phrase literally now...

He'll get over it...but I doubt if any university or institution would be willing to invite him again as a commencement or guest speaker anytime soon, hehehe

He should avoid giving commencement speeches from now on. Less talk, less mistake...
