ako naman, was based in Singapore for more than 10 years.
everytime we have family and friends coming over, bilib sila sa fast internet, public transport etc
now that I'm back... mas masarap pa din yung may sarili kang transport. and mabilis din internet natin - nakaka-inis lang dito (sa Pinas) is that may places pa din na walang signal!
We should have a drink when you get here.

Mali kasi imagination ko kala ko same across US.. Pati pamumuhay nila ma-alwan lahat..
I'll take you up on that. I'll be dividing my time between Tacloban where the wife will be much of the time and Metro Manila. It's still somewhat into the future although not as far as when I first mentioned it years ago. But, long-term endeavors take a lot of time and planning, esp with the famous Philippine red tape.Things are proceeding as expected.
Culture shock is part of moving to another country. You can't avoid it. Either you adjust or you don't. If the (monetary) compensation is good enough? You persevere. Perseverance is a very Pinoy trait and because of that? Pinoys are everywhere, even on a tiny island called Aruba. Your best bet to find fellow Pinoys anywhere is to use Google and search for Fil-Am groups at whatever US location you're at.
Or siguro sa IT Industry and HQ kasi kaya mas madami lalaki?
[emoji23]
one thing i noticed abroad (north america),
compared to us here,
walang masyadong children doon.
playgrounds are under-appreciated...
my cousins in california plan to retire here in pinassays a lot about the state of things in the usa i.e. in decline...
but as long as you got money it's great to live there. sometimes i think about selling all my properties here. then i'll buy a RZR side-by-side and ride trails in utah. it's a huge country. i've spent a total of 3 full months in there and i feel that i've barely scratched the surface
