Migrate or not to migrate to the U.S.

What would be the ideal average gross pay (before tax) in order to live a comfortable life (with mortgage on a 2 to 3 BR house, and a car)? Is $100k p.a. considered middle income earner in the US?

Good question. I've seen retirees who own a house in our neighborhood and has say, a Honda CR-V.

They don't work. They live off their retirement pension and perhaps Social Security (~$700/mo).
