April 12th, 2005 09:39 AM #7C45UX gamit ko. real cheap, pati ink mura(compatible gamit ko)
i had a C20UX before that. conked out after 2+yrs with light use. hindi ko na tinangkang dalhin sa repair shop, i had a feeling the repair costs would be too high. ganun na talaga pag entry level, disposable. pero i'd say sulit naman.
ung other models kasi ng epson uses that DuraBrite thingy; ok if you're after good photo quality printouts, pero mahal sobra ung cartridge.
btw, ung C45 has this feature where it combines the remaining ink on your CMYK cartidge to produce black output. based on experience the output is not exactly black, kasi depende nga kung ano ung natitirang ink, pero for rough drafts n stuff pwede na.
don't leave it off for too long a time though, me tendency na tumuyo ung ink sa nozzles ang bumara. kahit i on mo for a few minutes every few days.

be wary of cheap printers. as fedski mentioned. ang mura ng initial cost ng mismong equipment, pero papatayin kayo sa gastos sa consumables.

April 12th, 2005 10:07 AM #9*happy: at least in the case of epson printers, mas mahal consumables ng higher end inkjets, kasi DuraBrite na ang gamit. AFAIK wala pang compatible na cartridge that uses it.
i was actually considering the C65, pero nung nalaman kong DuraBrite sya e C45 na lang kinuha ko, although alam kong the printouts wouldn't be as nice. plus, puro text lang naman piniprint ko e B).
i *can* site a case where your statement applies though: there was this printer swap promo a few years back; trade in mo ung sirang printer mo, you get a brand new Lexmark printer. ang problema, walang ink cartridge, tapos walang compatibles, puro orig lang -- which were very expensive. so, initial cost mo zero, kaso patay ka sa consumables B).
