temperature of steam - decides what type of insulation to use
allowable heat loss (temp at supply point - temp at point of use) and length of piping - decides the thickness of your insulation.

yung dito sa 'min, ayon sa ming design engineer, styrofoam pwede daw for 60°C and below. meron din yung tawag perlite or silicalite - para syang refractory material na porous - para syang pre-formed plaster of paris na nakakorte ng pang wrap sa steam pipes. for high temp applications fiberglass daw pero di raw advisable fiberglass kung exposed sa sunlight + rain yung pipes unless it is well clad and covered with aluminum sheets and sometimes, asphaltic material. corrosive daw fiberglass pag nabasa at nagco-collapse daw. so take your pick.

    hth ;)

boybi, pm mo sakin kung kailangan mo pa. last price na tanong ko sa kanila is around P530 for a 1"dia pipe(forgot the thickness of the insulation and the length maybe standard 4 feet). pm ko sayo number kung interested ka.
