A Globe staff from the business center at SM MOA just called me a few minutes ago. There's a person claiming to be me at their store who's availing of handset upgrades for 4 of my accounts. He wants to get highend phones like iPhone 6 and Galaxy S6. He even presented IDs. When the staff noticed that the picture in the ID didn't match with what they had in their system, they asked some questions. He was able to answer a few but failed to answer one question: what ID I used when I last availed of a handset upgrade.

So they got suspicious and called me on my cellphone.

Since the staff just used a regular globe number to call me, I was hesitant to provide any info, I just told her I am not in Metro Manila and I am not availing any handset upgrades and just decline that transaction,

I then called Globe's hotline and informed them of the situation. I also requested for a screen cap of the impostor in their CCTV. I hope they'll give it to me.

It's really scary knowing someone has my personal infos and IDs.

Either the guy was a globe staffer or somebody close to you who knows a lot of things about you.

Wow, this is scary and very alarming. Lumalaganap na pala instances ng identity theft dito sa Pinas.

Suggest to report it in writing to Globe and NTC. Have the report duly received and keep a record of that received report for future reference, and/or use.

If Globe cares, they should initiate an investigation into what you reported if only to find out if it is an inside job and give you proper feedback.

Nagviral na sa FB yung post ni boybi. Unless there is another person with exactly the same case with Globe.

If so then good. Nothing like social media shaming to get them to act on this.

Perhaps a credit card agent who you have shared your info? Why not go directly sa sm moa and ask to see the CCTV? Ang mahirap dito ba someone close to you at di mo alam na tinatraydor ka.

I remember way before I was dating a girl. Thing is, she had a very jealous ex. He was able to find personal info about me, including home phone, exact address etc... Yun pala, he admitted he has a friend from Globe who provided him all the info.

Same here. I have a friend that used to work for Globe and she still has friends there that could pull up a person's account by just giving the mobile number.

It happened to me before naman, someone was able to pull out my details using my number because I had a bank account where he works.

Same problem bro. Dapat lalabas sa balcony para makasagap ng signal at hangang HSDPA lang, walang 4G. I used wired tattoo na lang for the wifi sa loob ng bahay.

I got another call from a Globe business center yesterday afternoon, this time sa Gateway Mall naman.

Same thing, a guy pretending to be me claiming handset upgrades. Pinakausap pa sa akin yung tao, pero kunwari hindi ako marinig, hello lang ng hello, tapos binalik yung phone, tapos tumakbo na daw palabas ng store.

I asked for a screen cap of their cctv, pero ang pinadala is the photocopy of the ID used. BIR TIN card and PhilHealth ID. Mali naman mga ID numbers and middle name ko and signature, pero tama yung first and last name, birth date and address.
