From what I've experienced and talked to with a former car importer (got out cause of 1 bad non-paying client) it would be better to deal with the grey market importer instead of doing it yourself. The hassle and being known by Customs people isnt worth the trouble. Pay the premium and enjoy the ride.

hmmmm, there is another way of doing it kaya lang technical smuggling na, hehehehe
kung may kilala ka na mayari ng shipping line and if they are buying a vessel (a large roro preferably), bumili ka ng kotse tapos i sakay mo sa barko during its conduction trip to the philippines. then have the car declared as ship's gear, mwahahahaha!
i know that this was done. kailan ba naging ship's gear ang jetski? and cases of beer and other luxury goods? this was done sometime back
my lips are sealed ......... hehehehe
