Hate the squatting problem, but not the squatters personally. They are the victims of poverty brought about by corruption and government neglect.

Ows? Nakakatakot naman ang NPA. Sa sobrang takot ko eh kinilig ako. :D

"They are the victims of poverty brought about by corruption and government neglect."

Let me rephrase that ka buriroy...They are the victims of poverty brought about by their laziness.

Observe mo isang squatter colony. Ano makikita mo? Puro inuman, sugal, videoke, karamihan naninigarilyo.

Government neglect? parang malabo yan bro.

really? blaming the government for the laziness of the squatters? well since you're gonna go that way why not blame the government for global warming while your at it. there is a saying "if you're born poor it's not your fault, if you die poor that is your fault" and i believe in that.

i am not anti poor, but i hate most squatters for their mentality. di lang naman squatters ang poor fyi. also di lang NPA ang may .45 at di lang din sila ang mang hihinayang na mag lagay ng tingga sa ulo ng tao, kaya ko pa mag lagay ng mas malaki pang tingga sa ulo nila the only advantage they have over me is their number, but i have a much better training and equipment than they do. so those empty threats won't work on me.

    Ilang taon ka na boss?

Anyways, golden years ng NPA yung time ni Marcos di ba. Bakit 'kamo? Martial law. Bakit 'kamo? Military abuse. Bakit 'kamo? Madaming victims. Bakit 'kamo?

There's a huge traffic jam along Commonwealth Ave. now. Guess who's causing it? The land belongs to Susana Realty, and there's already a court order for their demolition. They won't leave daw unless they are "given" proper housing...

Sure many squatters are lazy or many other negative things that you ascribe, but to call out for a "shoot to kill" order on them is downright bigotry and quite barbaric and bespeaks a mentality that is a lot worse than the squatters that you abhor. Pagtuunan mo ng galait yang mga hinayupak na politiko na sobra dami ng kotse dahil sa kurakot thus robbing the poor of basic social services like education thus aggravating the squatter problem.

bro kung "joke" lang yun, lagyan ng smiley or "hehehe" at the end to signify that he was just being flippant.
Otherwise a lot of people will take offense when you call for the extermination of a group of people for simply being lazy and "pasaway". Do you think poor people want to be squatters? They became squatters because they cannot afford decent housing. These are mainly people from the countryside who were "forced" to migrate to Manila because they can't a decent price for their farm products. Just as middle class people in Manila go to Hongkong and the Middle East for greener pastures, we should likewise not fault poor "provincianos" for coming to Manila to earn a decent wage. Sure some squatters are lazy and some of them even turn to criminal activities, but the majority are hardworking carpenters, laborers, housemaids that deserve some respect and understanding and not made victims of people who make sweeping statements that call for their extermination simply because they are squatters.
To the mods: can we please require the forum posters to not make statements that are racist, social-class discriminatory, or just plain bigoted and barbaric. If they're just making a joke (calling for shoot-to-kill on squatters if meant as a joke is offensive and in poor taste) at least indicate a smiley to indicate that the post is being made by a mentally-challenged person who is trying to be funny and not to be taken seriously.

QUEZON CITY, Philippines - Informal settlers in Quezon City warned Tuesday that they are ready to barricade EDSA again if the government pushes through with their relocation.

Estrelieta Bagasbas, chairperson of an urban poor group in San Roque, North Triangle, Quezon City, said they have been on high alert since August 27 following a deadline set by the city government for their relocation to Rodriguez, Rizal.

In September last year, the informal settlers had a pitched battle with police last year, resulting in a violent confrontation that spilled into EDSA.

"We have designed every aspect of our barricades to thwart any attempt by NHA and the police to demolish our community," Bagasbas said.

"We expect public commuters to understand us for we don't have choice for this government has already turned deaf to our legitimate demands. Barricading EDSA will remain essential as thousands of urban poor remain as victims to the government's failure to address the housing problem in urban centers," she claimed.

    Relocation houses sold

After the 2010 demolition attempt, some 5,000 families voluntarily transferred to Rodriguez, Rizal and San Jose Del Monte, Bulacan.

However, half of the them returned to the slum area after selling their housing units, according to urban poor group Kalipunan ng Damayang Mahihirap.

Bagbasbas confirmed this, describing the act as "righteous."

"We'll make sure Aquino will regret it if his government continues in demolishing our homes," she said.

Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista, meanwhile, has reportedly extended the deadline for the informal settlers' relocation.
