That's your decision to make if you wanna fight with a higher up. Never in all my years of working have I seen a subordinate who fought with the boss, win.

just means pick your battles and never burn your bridges. your boss most probably, knows more people of similar position of power/authority in the same industry (or even outside of the industry) than you. You might not get that recommendation, worse sisiraan ka if umalis ka and and nag apply ka at ung hiring manager e associate ng boss mo, or ng kabit nya. If you give it a go, that speaks well of your morals but think of the repercussions (hot-headed ang labas mo). What you can do is be a whistleblower nalang. If this is an open secret naman, then its down to company culture na pinapayagan and it is better to resign than pretend its all good and normal.

yes. never. unless you intend to leave immediately afterward.
bosses do not want to be told what to do, or that they made a mistake... but they are receptive to things that can make the firm earn more or function better. we just have to know how to package our thoughts.

meron ako isa industry na alam na pwede i challenge ng subordinate and kanya boss, being a airplane captain and a 1st officer...

the 1st officer can and has the right to correct his captain (his boss and the person who promoted him to 1st officer), and if needed take control of the situation and be the captain of the flight if he sees that that captains action is wrong or non-complaint eg. take off or land without Air traffic control clearance as the captain is in a hurry to finish the flight...

well thats airplane industry wherein the lives of the passengers are on their hands... pero kami din sa engineering, the lives of the tenants are on our hands, pag sumabog yong equipment, paktay tayo

Hahaha...napakahina ng loob mo. There are many ways to fight a battle. Befriend mo yung kabit ng boss mo and who know's baka maka benefit ka pa sa kabit, maging kuya mo si boss.

na isip ko na yan, di lang kaya ng morals ko yan kahit nag bibigay na ng signs paminsan minsan yong kabit ng boss ko, idealist ako, i always believe to fight for what is right!, but from the looks of this, the rule of "if you follow every rule, you will end up not happy in life" and "kung ano ang mali/bawal ay siya ang masarap!"

    the sad reality of life

Why not reverse your mind set, instead of fighting it, enjoy it. It's not immoral to use what is already a USED.

Being an idealist is okay, but its better to be a pragmatist, for as long as you are not conflicting your moral compass. in cases where pwede mo i-announce sa mundo ang maling practice, but will endanger your career or your well-being, then be pragmatic and walk away without making enemies.

in the end hindi lang ang masamang tao ang panalo, but the person who makes calculated moves.

You know a bad person who never paid for his sins (not yet)?

Lou Pai of Enron - He was a high ranking employee of Enron who cashed out his stocks just before the mess because he was 'caught' cheating with a prostitute. He "needed" the cash for the divorce settlement and was ordered by the judge to pay up and thus had a legit reason to cash out. Other execs who attempted to cash out were prosecuted.

sa mga bagay pwede second hand tulad ng kotse, kase ma rerestore pa naman ito at kung swerte ka di pa masyado laspag, pag tao, mas ideal yong sariwa, yong di magiging conflict sa iba, at hindi maging trydor sa huli...

hmmm, na save pa pala si Lou Pai dahil sa pag gawa niya ng mali/kalokohan (cheating with a prostitute), so there it is, doing whats wrong will eventually make you right in the future, just like what my boss is right now

thank you for the illustration, i now understand, doing 3 wrong things will eventually result to one right thing!

no offense, that's how i see it, so being an asshole boss right now will eventually land you in the correct destination one day, no wonder there are a lot of them!

Sis, that was meant to be a joke. Hanky panky at work is not healthy to the organization. The boss needs to be the role model in order to gain the trust and respect of his staff. True that married life is not always a bliss but at least he should be discreet with his extra-marital affairs. The golden rule for a manager is never to sh!t in your own backyard.
