tama! si boss nga ang nagpasok ng kabit niya sa office.. bat naman niya tatanggalin?
hindi naman tayo ang nag-susuweldo sa kanya.
for all we know, her job description is "eyes and ears of the boss". errr... perhaps this is the real reason we want her out?

Rule no 1: Never engage war with the boss

Everyone has told me, walang panalo dyan. Kaya ako kahit hindi malaki sweldo ko, stick ako sa job ko kasi rare na mga katulad ng boss ko na napakabait (accountable for his staff and knows more than we do) May mga boss kasi walang idea anong ginagawa ng staff nila. Haha

never engage war with the boss kahit mali siya? its like fighting pala with the government for what is right? basta nabigyan ng powers and rights nagiging dyos na... untouchable...

sabi nga birds of the same feather flock together, ibig sabihin ba the previous boss who promoted my boss now has the same attitude and work ethics?

That's your decision to make if you wanna fight with a higher up. Never in all my years of working have I seen a subordinate who fought with the boss, win.

meron ako isa industry na alam na pwede i challenge ng subordinate and kanya boss, being a airplane captain and a 1st officer...

the 1st officer can and has the right to correct his captain (his boss and the person who promoted him to 1st officer), and if needed take control of the situation and be the captain of the flight if he sees that that captains action is wrong or non-complaint eg. take off or land without Air traffic control clearance as the captain is in a hurry to finish the flight...

well thats airplane industry wherein the lives of the passengers are on their hands... pero kami din sa engineering, the lives of the tenants are on our hands, pag sumabog yong equipment, paktay tayo

just means pick your battles and never burn your bridges. your boss most probably, knows more people of similar position of power/authority in the same industry (or even outside of the industry) than you. You might not get that recommendation, worse sisiraan ka if umalis ka and and nag apply ka at ung hiring manager e associate ng boss mo, or ng kabit nya. If you give it a go, that speaks well of your morals but think of the repercussions (hot-headed ang labas mo). What you can do is be a whistleblower nalang. If this is an open secret naman, then its down to company culture na pinapayagan and it is better to resign than pretend its all good and normal.

ang hirap ng office politics pala, the bad person will always win at the end the the person who has good intent is left to silence and should for another opportunity elsewhere

tama ka, mahirap at baka masiraan pa ako at ma dead end ang career ko

Hahaha...napakahina ng loob mo. There are many ways to fight a battle. Befriend mo yung kabit ng boss mo and who know's baka maka benefit ka pa sa kabit, maging kuya mo si boss.

yes. never. unless you intend to leave immediately afterward.
bosses do not want to be told what to do, or that they made a mistake... but they are receptive to things that can make the firm earn more or function better. we just have to know how to package our thoughts.

tama ka, she is the eyes and ears of the boss plus special benefits before/after work and thats the reason we want her out, kase mga ideas niya sa journalism di tugma sa ginagawa namin sa engineering...
