To rid the reliance on sealants which have limited service life. Welds last & stay watertight. Constant leaks will lead to rot or rust on its mated surfaces like fascia boards( even the ficem type) or metal purlins behind & might eventually affect the eaves & its fasteners. Worse if those gutters are hidden.
My personal preference? No gutters or just on vital areas esp those concentrated valleys. In place of them are ground trenches to collect the rainfall. Zero maintenance.[emoji4]
