Unless you destroy the CRT monitors, they'll probably just be recycled for use in poorer regions that will accept them as donations and possibly for educating children. That's no problem at all, except that you really didn't do much if the CRT is recycled.

When my wife and I went to Boracay we got frustrated at the trash that was on one part of the beach where we stayed for the island hopping. So we found an old plastic bag and tossed whatever we could find into the bag (toothpaste, wrappers, Styrofoam bits, bottles, bottle caps, etc.) and then told a young boy to throw them in a proper trash bin as we handed over a nice P20 bill. I hope he did what he was told to do so!

The worse thing was, the language on those items were mostly Korean! I don't want to start a flame war but I just hate that they went to Boracay and littered it with their waste.
