Hello. I'm planning to buy German Shepherds because two weeks ago, may nakapasok sa garahe namin. We used to have dogs, kaso askals lang. I need a guard dog.
Anybody can give me contact numbers? And how much a 2 month old puppy costs? I need a good breed.
Thanks.

I heard rotts and especially pitts aren't kid friendly.

our german sheperd has been with us for quite sometime na..and he is indeed a very good guard dog....training is another thing to cinsider...bali wala po siya kung hindi lang din sumusunod sayo at walang proper behavior and attitide...
goodluck!

December 10th, 2003 02:36 PM #8hmm...when getting rotweillers or pit bulls(these breeds are somewhat related, right?), konting ingat lang. i'm no expert, but i hear that those particular breeds have a tendency to just go insane and attack people(owners included) at random. Something in their genes/breeding kuno(can anyone verify?)
Ung pit bulls i hear are specifically bred for fighting, so particularly vicious and strong...
i also hear na sa US drug lords do keep pit bulls for "dog fights", and as a sideline, "executioners" for dealers/users gone astray(this sounds a bit like urban legend to me though)
Sa pagkakaalam ko nga, there's a clamor in the US to ban breeding of pit bulls, since talagang unstable ang breed na un
i guess you have to have them trained somewhat din...dami na ako na encounter na big dogs(even pedigrees), kala mo kung gaano katapang e titigan mo lang ng masama e tatakbo na B)....while on the other hand, ung ibang askal e ginagamit pang hunting dogs

GlennSter,
I have friends who used to breed German Shepherds, sayang nga at di pa ako kumuha sa kanila nung time na yun. I got advices na rin from GSD owners too. What confuses me there are two types of GSD: show type and working line. The former is more expensive, the latter is aggressive. Difference? The latter's stance is mataas ang puwitan, parang askal. The show type is pababa, parang may slant. I was advice also to get a blood line from working line since they're more of a guardian dog. The show type are kinda friendly to strangers. For me it doesn't matter as long as it guards the house. I'll do more research and buy a book soon. I love dogs since I was a kid. I'm gonna start with a puppy and train him as it grows.
Don't worry about the food. I have resources for that.

Hmmmm.....magastos pala magakaroon ng German Shepperd. Eh, kung Doberman, parehas din siguro gastos.
He-he-he!
Be careful with channels like "China Observer" on YouTube. There is a clear bias in their posts and...
