the winged termites are called "alate/s".
when we see them flying out at night, it doesn't necessarily mean that rainy season's coming. actually they do this the whole year not because of upcoming rains, but because of ***!
when i was a kid, our karpintero gathered a few temite queens from around our house and placed them on a cut banana leaf.
he ate them all (raw) like a maniac. fear factor style!

Kung tama ang pagkakaalala ko, naglalagay kami ng dahon ng malunggay (ata) sa may ilaw para di pumunta o umalis ang mga gamo gamo.
Sign din ata yan ng malakas na ulan.
