Did TGP had to specify Sam Liuson's religious affiliation that had nothing to do with his thankfulness for San Juan's Fire Department? Daming reader's nagalit tuloy...

Wheel Gallery (Concept One) managing partner Sam Liuson, a Christian, took time to honor and thank the firemen even after his building had been gutted by yesterday's fire.
Dont get me wrong. I did not mean to take anything away from the good heartedness of Mr. Liuson. His act of sincere appreciation is indeed noteworthy and commendable . I just fear that such a specific description might breach the standards of neutral and fair journalism. Sorry if I have become intricate in detail. I have no intent to debate here of what is proper or not. It is a fact that ours is a diverse and multi-cultural/religious nation. Personally, being a Catholic I am having problems understanding how the term "Christian" could just refer to a particular group (Protestant, ecumenical & born-again) when we, as well as many others follow Christ too. I dont believe that membership in any religious organization promises salvation. No one has the monopoly over good manners and right conduct. The post is similar to saying that Hello Kitty, a pink cat, helped his fellow felines just because he or she is a pink cat . How would the gray, yellow or white cats fare in such line of thinking? Peace everyoneYeah I agree. Do you really have to highlight his being a "Christian"? Its totally irrelevant to the story. How does his being a " Christian" differentiate from how perhaps a " Muslim" or a "Jew" would treat the brave firemen? Any decent and appreciative human being, regardless of religion would have done the same. Do we guys have to convert to being " Christian" to show that we can also be grateful to our fellowmen? Being a good and moral person is not dependent on the nature of one's creed. Not to be nitpick-y, pero kailangan ba talaga ung, "a Christian?" Or does it refer to something else rather than his religion.Reply ng TGP:I agree, tgp you need to be sensitive to your audience or fans.
