feedback on Duron 1800

me naka/gumagamit na ba nito? i'm a bit skeptical about AMD processors ever since we had that overheating problem with some Athlon chips. Balita ko the bundled fan is not effective enough, and you need to buy "aftermarket" cpu fans

i have 1 duron n 1 athlon equipped PC in the office, never gave me any problems whatsoever. as solid as intel cpus.

why not buy the new sempron processors? Newer AMD procs don't have that overheating problem anymore. Am currently using an AMD Athlon 64 its turned on around 7-8 hours a day for 6 days a week, no probs so far regaring overheating.

agree with Frank. luma na Duron ah. ang kapalit nyan sempron.
pero tama rin ang observation mo badkuk. mas mabilis talaga uminit ang AMD processors compared sa Intel. pero, kaya naman ng mga aftermarket na fans.

what we do here in the office eh, naglalagay kami ng fan mismo sa ibabaw ng processor, tsaka mga 2 fans sa casing. kaya naman.

laki kasi ng price difference ng Intel and AMD eh.

tulad ng sabi nila good aftermarket processor fan lang katapat nyan...wala kasing kwenta naka bundle na fan sa amd kaya kailangan mo talagang magpalit ng mas maganda lalo na kung di airconditioned ang kwarto...

thanks for the replies. me nakita kasi akong duron 1800 + mobo combo on sale. para sana kina ermats n erpats for surfing. medyo alanganin kasi ung binigay kong Pentium II :D

hmmm..either that o save up na lang ako for a celeron

just get the lower end sempron kung surfing lang..yung speed naman depends mostly on the connection not the processor..actually yung duron di ganon ka-init.. ang mainit yung mga athlon xp...
