A trained eye wouldn't spot a fake right away. If the owner wears it with confidence then nobody would care anymore whether it is fake or not. Nakakahinayang lang kasi kung binayaran mo ng mahal tapos malalaman mo na fake pala.

It is true that here in the US there are only few who wears Lacoste simply because of the price range and availability. For polo shirts, Abercrombie and Fitch, Hollister, American Eagle, etc. are cheaper by half compared to Lacoste plus they can be found in most malls. I know Bloomingdale's, Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus, and some select Macy's stores carry Lacoste and they cost no less than $75 excluding tax (for the basic style). I seldom see a stand alone Lacoste boutique here in California other than the one I saw in Beverly Hills, Camarillo and Cabazon outlets, and Walnut Creek (I am sure there are more but in high class areas). Lacoste can be compared to brands like Banana Republic, Hugo Boss, Ralph Lauren, Clairborne, Kenneth Cole, Nautica and other high class brands you usually see inside a GQ magazine. It is easy to spot a pinoy here in the US because Lacoste is a popular among our kababayans much as it is back there in RP.

Just buy yours from reputable stores for your peace of mind. Kung may magtatanong kung fake yung suot mo, ipakita mo na lang yung resibo .
