^ :hysterical: nasa kabilang thread 'yun ah, hahaha!

12yrs old and his eye grade is already 500/500. medyo makapal na ang salamin.
gusto ko sana 'yung frames from oakley's active category, whisker or taper et al,
    that can hold thick glasses.

Dati nung nabasag eyeglasses ko, I had to settle with an ordinary lens kasi it will take a day or two pa para sa multicoated.
All is fine and good until gumabi at magdrive ako.
    Nakakahilo promise

    Never going non-multicoated again.

    daming alambreng sampayan dito.

    thanks sir CLAVEL3699

i think i'll try these shops. meron naman siguro sa trinoma at sa sm city.
nasa proj. 6 pa kasi 'yung pamangkin ko.
pasyalan namin siguro after the holy week na.

for fabrication. sa quiapo marami labs. as per opto recommendations siyempre.

Is anyone using one of those flexible titanium frames?

Can anyone recommend a good brand? i've seen them go for 5-10k online, but locally i've seen some going for a few thousand pesos. i doubt if they're of the same material/quality, so i've put off buying a pair.

i'm currently using multilayered lens, but if the frame is progressive-friendly, it would be a plus.

i have good experience with charmant. but they are not flexible. they are just matibay.
by flexible, i think you mean those with spring-loaded temples. i have one such. non-titanium, cheap & generic, but still ok after 10 years. the truly flexible ones (pretzelize them and they spring back to normal) are the carbon fibers, which i don't see anymore.
most guys i know, like progressive lenses. i tried 'em before, and didn't like it. i am now into half-moons. they're lighter than the businessman's type (yung thick, very prominent, straight horizontal) that i had before.
and yes, progressive lenses are hideously expensive. they cost 5-10x more than the non-progressives. my eye doctor says there are ophthalmologic advantages of progressives, but... i still don't like 'em. but some vain people prefer them, because they feel younger with it (hindi halatang naka-doble-vista na sila). heh heh heh.

well I have a supposedly titanium frame which I bought on ebay for only a few hundred pesos.

dont know if its really titanium but its light and not magnetic. Not sure what you mean by "flexible". So far its OK

since mura lang naman (+112 fee sa local post office namin no tax) pwede I figured pwede i testing pagbili bago lagyan ng lens

i mean the type you can literally twist around like rubber, then babalik sa dating shape -- e.g. Flexon. i've seen a lot around Quiapo, but the low price made me suspicious.

you might buy two. try one, using cheaper prescription lenses first. and if it turns out ok, you can have the more expensive progressives installed in your second frame. may reserba na kayo!

btw... not all frames can have prescription lenses installed on them. some of those "pang-isputing" types are not for prescription lenses. show it to your optician, po, and see if them frames can hold prescription lenses.
