oh gosh...i could still remember what happened last May 1, 2001. I could still remember yung nagburn sila ng mga pick-ups ng media.

kung nasaan ang pera, pati majority of the businesses, andun ang power... rich people and the working class can do without the poor, but the poor cant do without them...
nkakalungkot pero totoo...
The reason both EDSA 1 and 2 succeeded is because the military either supported or refused to act against the demonstrators.... the instigators of EDSA 1 were the priests, the nuns, the students, the middle class...
EDSA 2 wasn't just the old school politicos against Estrada, it was the middle class, the clergy, the students, the radicals... many sectors were present...
Don't say that the 'masa' wasn't at EDSA 2, a lot of us there were 'jologs' too. :D
Unfortunately, EDSA 2 was soon joined by the politicos and businessmen. EDSA 2 wasn't staged or pre-planned, but in the end, it served the purposes of those political opponents of Estrada who saw their opportunity and took it.
EDSA 3 was not really a "pang-masa" movement... it was staged and orchestrated to no effect. It didn't capture anyone's imagination or fire, because of the bluntly political objectives of the demonstration...
In the end, all of the EDSA events ended up benefitting one political party or another... but the difference between the successful ones and the unsuccessful ones is that the successful ones started spontaneously, of the free will of the people, who did not join in support of any political purpose, but rather, against one.
Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

ah yah, factor din yun military... bakit ba sila sumama sa mga demonstrators? hmmmmmm.... kaya po may lifestyle check sila ngayon...
if ang edsa 2 not supported ng businessman walang effect yun... did you know na lucio tan, henry sy, john gokonwei can turn the tides here in the philippines? if naasar sila, pwede silang bumili ng sangkatutak na stocks at ubusin nila ang pera nila dun, then benta nila the next day, para mabawi yun cash... mag-crash lang naman ang economy natin...
sad but true, only a few people have a say in this world... they can live without us, yes we can live without them, but we need them more than they need us...
sabi nga ng prof ko, for every headline story na makikita natin, the real story was not on the next page, it was printed 5 years ago... if you are observant during the 1970s maprepredict mo ang mangyayari tomorrow...

October 8th, 2004 01:40 AM #16para may excuse silang wala silang work? investors would scare away from our country if that happens again, it would just show our inherent instability and love for an uprising, even if may seem to be a peaceful one. and of course the rich would seem to benefit from this, uprising may cause the market to fall, but rich people invest wisely, esp in the money market and would clearly benefit once the economy would crash locally.
of course this is just my view, my own opinion, edsa 1 clearly had a reason, but the rest? please....
god help us all. and let us not forget to help ourselves
