Earthquake In Bohol and surrounding provinces

I've seen this one when we cruised the Loboc river. Now the engineer can say, " i was thinking ahead of time". Demolish the church as nature has did it already and proceed with the bridge.

That was my actual comment to the wifey when we saw the pics... "well, they can now proceed with the dang bridge".

PH is geographically cursed. No amount of praying will change that.

We're blessed with a lot of natural resources yet cursed with a lot of natural disasters. It's all part of being in the "Pacific rim of fire". The sad this is we can't make proper use of our resources and at the same time we don't know squat on how to deal with disasters.

My sentiments to those who where greatly affected.

I wonder why the people has to suffer. Super typhoon in Central Luzon followed by a devastating earthquake in Central Visayas.

My God, you can spare the people of the further sufferings. You can just put both these disaster together and hit Senate, Congress and Malacanang all together with their tenants and the pinoys will be all grateful.

I've been to Baclayon and that church beside the bridge to nowhere. Tsk, sayang.

I saw a lot of people commenting on FB that why doesnt the INC hold their medical mission in Bohol, like right now?

We should adapt and take precautions. Do the engineers and architects have any provisions for strong earthquakes? With all the high-rises being built, they should much in the same way that Japan does where earthquakes are more frequent.

From what i understand, a lot of the modern buildings today, given they adhere to the building code, should be able to withstand such occurrences (or at least remain standing even if heavily damaged). What are more in danger of collapsing are the old, low rise buildings or those "mom and pop" building constructions that may have resorted to a lot of under the table dealings and continued without the necessary permits, inspections, etc.

Hindi lang "Pacific rim of fire", from north to south. Pati Typhoon Belt from east to west.

If they were to establish a "World Ring of Political Disasters", kasama na rin tayo dun.

Hahaha. Malabo mangyari yan, wala kikitain mga iglesia ni camote sa Bohol.

Besides, their usual excuse would be ... Catholic Churches naman ang na-damage, hindi inc church.

It's scary indeed. If you look at what happened in Bohol, the place is pretty much low density and you already had over 100 fatalities. Imagine the exponential factor if this happened in a high density area such as Metro Manila.

We're not prepared to deal with such events.

Nung bata ako may pinapanood ako sa channel 4 about earthquakes na napredict ng mga taga U.S kaso lumagpas yung prediction nila.
Grabeng research yun at pag kuha ng pattern sa earthquake.
