That's true doc. My brother passed UPd but my parents didn't allow him to go because it's not a Catholic school BUT he was told he can go to UPLB and take agriculture, since kabuhayan ng pamilya namin ang lupa, but he didn't wanna leave Manila e.

Napansin ko din sa UP grads ang lakas ng camaraderie (?) Diba doc you know Dr APS? ALL his referrals to us are UP grads. Yung doctor naman ni fat lab is also a UP grad and all the doctors under him are UP too. Kaya basta medicine, UP the best

Our company used to hire top 3 exclusively pero in the past 10 yrs that changed already. Favorite nga nila PUP kasi hindi mareklamo, pero nagkakaron din ng parang school wars sa office e. haha.

mga rich kid kasi di sanay na inuutusan... sa bahay sila ang nang uutos

    tsaka konting hirap reklamo agad

may attitude na "i don't have to put up with this i can always quit"

mga taga PUP kahit ano pagawa mo sige lang

PHD sila -- poor, hungry, driven

    kaya employers love them

Yup sa PWM business ng company namin, puro mga name droppable surnames mga employee dun but usually they don't stay longer than 5 yrs. Mga pinagtrabajo lang para malaman how it's like to be an employee.

There's this head hunter that calls me and their associates are so well spoken. I'd always check the profile after the call and it's always Ateneans. It's as if they exclusively hire Ateneo graduates! Pero magagaling! I thought "exclusivity" in companies are non existent na but apparently it still is.

headhunters have to be well spoken.
otherwise, they wouldn't be credible to the potential heads.
    heh heh.

    arrheneans?
it would probably depend, on who're calling the shots.
if the shooters were greens, their associates would probably also be green.
    and so forth.

    sabi nga nang isa,
"if we do not hire our own products, who else will hire them?"

I've encountered head hunters that are just "okay", not as well spoken as these Ateneans. And I like how we could have casual conversations and feel comfortable around them. Magaling hiring ng head hunter na to. Sa bagay, it was my former boss that sent my CV to them.

    i am just curious,
bakit walang green and maroon (UP) sa school coats of arms na naka display?
dahil kaya, business and not science ang work?

Yeah, should have included UPd. Also, hindi lang FMCG ang MNC.

BTT: I think mga boomers and older ang SUPER conscious when it comes to schools. Last time I had lunch with family/family friends that are ALL boomers, the conversation mostly centered around schools or if they talked about someone nakakabit yung school, surname and province. Although amusing nga that they are all connected to each other in some way

    well,
    our family are UP.
    "dun kasi mura, eh."

if UP did not accept me in med school,
malamang ay hindi na ako naka-duktor.
the other schools are simply, out of wallet-reach.

    hindi naman, po.
marami ring magaan lang ang kaya na naka enrol doon. take it from me. "i know."
hindi lang sila nagpapa-halata sa publiko.

    remember some years ago?
the valedictorian was the son of a lavander. and his classmates either had no inkling, or knew but did not care.

    one issue with society,
is that usually, only the noisy ones get noticed.

A significant population are of upper middle to upper class stock. I think the reason why hindi kasama sa meme eh they would tend to blend in to avoid being mocked (mga konyo) or at least tone down.

Nung time ko sa UP, though sa Los Banos ito, never napuno ang mga parking lots.
Ngayon, UP had to reserve parking spaces for faculty and staff because a lot of students have cars already.

but that is true of our public roads as well...
    heh heh.
mas maraming kotse ngayon, nguni at hindi naman dumami ang surface area nang bansa.

yung ilang hospital, nagtayo na nang steel parking facility above their ground-level parking facility, to cater to their increased drive-in traffic.
sabi kasi nang research nila, they are losing potential costumers because the drive-in costumers have nowhere to park, and drive away to the competing facility.

many many thousands of years from now,
alien archaeologists digging thru our dust of history will conclude that back in the day, the planet was populated by iron entities, enslaving the human raize.
"... and this is the "nursery... where cars-citizens are born... and this here is the garage... where human slaves tend to the car-masters..."

I would think so, primarily because of the deterioration of the public education system in general. There are more science high schools now, which is great, but I don't think it has caught up with the ridiculous increase in our population from the 2000's to the 2020's.

Personally, I really think there should be an income prerequisite for you to get a full scholarship to a state university. Full scholarships should only be given to the CDE socio-economic groups. The AB crowd should pay their own way, or at least, pay for most of it.

Does school really matter?
