It does matter and it matters a LOT... For big multinationals, it is the 1st screening criteria that they utilize. This is a fact that could not be ignored. If one is a graduate of a top 3 school with honors, that person is almost always assured of a good paying job right after college.same thing could not be said if one graduated from a tier 3 school. This is not unique in the Philippines. Law graduates of the top 20 Law Schools in the US are almost assured of an entry level associate jobs topping $120,000 in annual salary.

I handle hiring/promoting of supervisors and managers in our family business. We are not yet big enough to attract graduates of the top 3 schools but I do noticed that graduates from NCR schools are better when it comes to analytical, communication and presentation skills. Part of my requirement is for an interviewee to explain and analyze sales and inventory data. I'm a graduate of DLSU Manila and hopefully in the near future our family business would be big enough to attract DLSU grads and graduates of the 2 other big schools.

prefer kasi ng mga galing sa top universities mga top companies

they're not only after pay they're after prestige

kaya they don't apply at Mang Bhoy Enterprises

syempre pag tinanong sila "where do you work?" cool ang sagot na "Shell" or "Unilever"

if you want to lead, you must be able to follow. best business practice is if you are willing to adapt to change, which means we should never stop being a student in life.

which is better, boss ka agad or you worked your way up to being the boss?

Nung nasa manufacturing ako ang dami ko nainterview na puro college graduate pero ang bagsak operator lang or minsan hindi pa mahire. Ganun kahirap ang buhay kaya you need every edge you can get habang bata ka pa.

Pero syempre in every rule there's an exception, kahit highschool graduate lang pero maganda hired agad tapos dun ka sa office and hindi sa manufacturing area magtatrabaho.
