how about this, has nothing to do with grammar, but this is what we heard way back in high school from a teacher who was so mad at a group of students...

From an ROTC officer way back in college..
"DRROOOPPP!!!!! You, You and You! both of you three!"
problems with verb tense:
Please keep the door close.
You will be fine 500 pesos.
Here's my share:
1. Repair shops across the country:"We specialized in....."
2. Open/close your computer, when they mean turning it on or off. As with the case with lights: "open/close the lights".
3. The "na" extension so common among teen boppers " You keep it...NA! (Lintek, ok na sana yung english)
4. CONO Talk
5. Fact: Starbucks make people speak English suddenly.
6. Jeepney mud guard :"It's hurts if I'm not the First".
7. T-Shirt : " I is in College"

Nung nasa Japan ako, may clothing stora na ito ang marquee:

Lahat ng klaseng kulay ata ng medyas, meron sila.
what is correct english anymore? you go on the most reputable tv stations, newspapers or websites here in the US and you'll find typos and grammar mistakes all over the place. yes, i'm talking NBC, CNN, ESPN.
although the best one i heard recently was a pinay yelling at her white boyfriend/husband --> "keep shut!"
nalito siguro kung "shut up" or "keep quiet" yung sasabihin
During ROTC days.... while being punished for showing up without the prescribed haircut that was announced the day before.
While doing some push ups, our S4 officer scolded us..."I told you to cut your haircut, now look at!" Ayun, instead of doing the punishment, di na namin matapos coz we were laughing na! Realizing na mali yung sinabi niya, umalis yung officer namin.
basta ako pag nasa pinas or kahit anong bansa pag alam ko pinoy and nakaka intindi ng tagalog
tagalog lang ang salita ko bahala syang bumaluktot dila nya kaka english
Ok lang na medyo mali basta informal lang. Masama pag nasa print media like news or literature, or kahit sa TV...
Kahit sa law acceptable ang maling English basta nakukuha ang intent.
Eto common mistakes I've come across:
1. "Tense" problems - Somebody change the settings last night. Last night nga eh, di changed.
2. Double preposition - I'll pick you up at around 7 o'clock. It's either at or around, never both.
3. Go here. You should never go here. You go there and come here, but never go here.
4. Irregardless. Besides being a double negative, it is not even a word. The word is regardless.
5. Not unless. Double negative. Baka unless lang.
6. Be rest assured. Baka rest assured.
7. It's vs. Its. One is shortened "It is" while the other is possessive.
8. Road close. Nalito yata sa tense ulit. Eh di naman verb yung close kundi adjective. Kaya closed dapat.
9. Brake vs. break. Eto nasa signature ni MBT. Yung una preno. Yung isa basagin.

hirap nga ako.. merun bang ways para maging fluent? :D
nahihirapan tuloy kao lumapit pag conyo un babae hehehe
Lots of reading (for spelling, word use, grammar and sentence construction) and a little good TV will help (for diction and understanding accents).
I agree. I have to admit that i haven't been spending enough time reading good books anymore.Originally Posted by the_wildthing

I have days that I can really speak good English and there are days that I really just can't help eating my words. If its a bad day, as long as person I'm talking to understands Filipino, I just talk to him in Filipino. Di naman kailangan sabayan ng spokening english para makibagay.
