Yup, not for everybody we also have a fairly big family but we always manage to keep in touch thru phone calls

I have a facebook and the scenario posted by CFY isn't a familiar one. I would say I have a fair number of friends on FB, of which 98% I know personally or at least by name and face, and none of them post annoying things on FB.

In fact, as a student, FB is probably the most effective way of disseminating information. I clearly remember how relief efforts were mobilized in our school through FB during Ondoy. Also, org events are easily promoted in FB.

I guess it's also a matter of who your FB friends are.

Yes i have since 2007.. But i only add people i know kaya ang friendships ko eh 241 pa lang.. At nakilala ko mga kamag-anak ko na hindi ko pa na-meet ever since.. kita ko pa mga itsura nila

I have a very good story about Facebook. Iyung kasamahan kong stewardess, hindi niya nakita ni anino ng tatay niya since nagka-malay siya sa mundo. She is 38yo now. May litrato lang siya ng tatay niya na sobrang luma na at 10yo lang yata ang tatay niya duon.. Ang huling pagkakaalam niya eh nasa US ang tatay niya.. And because of Facebook, she was reunited back with her father last three months ago.. Very inspiring yung nangyari sa kanya becasue of Facebook.. :hug:

Yep I have and yes dahil din sa FB nagkaroon din ng mga reunions, saya nga actually

. as for the mayayabangs, e nasa tao na yan, kung mayabang sila kahit walang FB mayabang talaga yan, di na kasalanan ng FB yan

If you are annoyed you can always block them. Part of living in the modern world yung mga ganyan sayang naman kung dine deprive mo sarili dahil lang sa ilang negative na tao, may workaround naman.

Tama, pwede mo naman i-block ang mga nakaka annoy na friends

I also blocked every game that pops up in my news feed in my main FB account

I have another account mainly for playing FB games. But I have already stopped playing FB games for a few months already, nakakasira ng productivity

yes, I have an account in facebook. mainly to reconnect with my friends, and relatives specially we are all far from each other. so this is one way of keeping us updated with each other. opinion ko lang, I think it would still depend on the user on what purpose they have in mind, another is we all have our own thoughts in using it kung dahil sa friends man o sa apps o whatsoever. like what we always say, kanya-kanyang trip lang yan...
