just an observation...there are only about 5 people who are vehemently arguing...the rest couldn't care less about the issue.

the lower socio-economic level always portray themselves as the oppressed. the higher ups are always the oppressors. they use that "style" everytime... and the press/media feed on that... they love rich-oppress-poor stories... they magnify it, sensationalize it, blow it out of proportion. swaying public opinion in favor of the poor and creating a very negative perception towards the rich.

And our politicians, who need the votes of the masses, wont do anything unpopular... like phasing out PUJs. It would make them look anti-poor.

thing is, the politicians try to win the votes of the poor, but ask for huge campaign contributions from the rich.

OT na sobra.. sensya na... pero

People just dont realize how much damage that neagtive perception towards the rich has caused.

"mayaman naman yan e... perahan natin"

So instead of investing in expansion, the capitalists now just keep their money in the bank. They just dont think its worth it to do business here anymore.

the harassment they get from govt people (lagay), the harrasment from communists (revolutionary tax, labor unions), the kidnappings and peace & order situation... all those things discourage the capitalists from expanding businesses and creating jobs.

Now, the richies simply ride out the economic crisis. they have enough money to ride it out for years... even decades... in style.

But the poor can hardly make ends meet.

Thats the consequence of the hate-the-rich mentality. The pumpmasters just turn off the pump that pumps capital. When the pump is dry, people eat dirt. Or instant noodles.

Give the capitalists a friendly environment to do business in, and they will open the pump again.

Wow! 3 pages in one day! Bilis!

    Pro-uniform:

    Ehehehe. Oh I see. Ibaaa.

the anti-uniform crowd has misplaced idealism.

The same kind of misplaced idealism that lead to the downfall of companies.

There are company owners who have overblown "treat-employees-like-family" mentality. Profit-sharing, benefits and above industry compensation...

Guess where those companies are now... dead. Unprofitable and bled dry by the employees.

you are generalizing already and is already straying WAY OFF TOPIC.

if people want to treat their maids like family, so what?

that is their own choice, much like those who want to have uniformed maids.

nothing wrong with either so long as you don't over do it. just accept the fact that people think differently.

another generalized statement that'll just make this thread even longer needlessly.

    ---

I'VE NOTICED THAT SOME PEOPLE HERE ARE JUST TRYING TO PROVOKE A HEATED DEBATE / ARGUMENT.

THINGS ARE NOT BEING DISCUSSED IN A HEALTHY MANNER AND I'LL LOCK THIS THREAD UP IF IT CONTINUES TO BE.

Uhh, you can find everything in my summary posted in this thread. Tamad lang me to go back and quote all the past posts. Only the last line (not included in your quote) contained something new from me.

But ok, if that's the way it goes, my last post on this thread.

Do maids have to wear a uniform?
