I know a lot of our members here have a lot of know how when it comes to home repairs

I am planning on having my cabinets repainted DIY only. I don't want to ask our contractor anymore because he is kinda expensive and normally something else would come up so it always exceeds the budget.

How do you repaint cabinets so that it has a glossy white finish?

    Use glossy white paint

Surface must be well sanded, wood grains must be evened out with filler. Then spray base coat 2x followed by sanding. Pag di pa din pantay spray base coat ulit, sanding ulit. Then 2-3 coats of top coat. Just like in painting cars di ka dapat nagmamadali. All paint coats must be completely dry before you do sanding or apply the next coat. Practice ka muna sa back side ng cabinet door or any scrap wood around. Eto yung mahirap, yung practice. Kaya mahal ang charge ng mga pro kasi alam nila you are more likey to mess it up if you do it yourself. Then they charge you higher when you call them to fix your mess!

If you use a brush ot roller then don't expect to get professional looking results. Meron din sprayer na may sariling air pump, no need for bulky air tanks. Look in olx or ebayph for these.

Ever since our suking pintor left for abroad we could not find anyone that would match his skills so we don't get to maintain the paint at home anymore.

Cathy, they would not be leaving to work overseas if they can find work at home that pays enough for them to pull their families out of poverty. We all have the right to pursue our dreams di ba. If you want to keep them ypu'll just have to pay them.

Yeah. I can't blame him for leaving since it really pays so much better abroad. My Dad said he left for Saudi Arabia. Painting is not that easy pala

sa True Value or Ace ba meron niyan? Wala ata ako nakikita? Hindi ba mas mahirap mag gupit gupit with all the grooves of the cabinet?
