Just cook it well.

We used to buy "live" chickens, but at our current address, most of the chickens are already dressed, even in the marketplace. And when we found out that the prices weren't much different between the supermarket and the wet market, we just started buying chicken from the supermarket. We still buy veggies and fish at the wet market though.
