When we went to the ER last aug 2, the doctors at perps said his tummy ache was due to fecal impaction and recommended confinement. By aug 5, he was in worse pain so his pedia referred his case to their pedia-surgeon. The surgeon took one rectal exam and said he needed to be operated on. For what exactly, he didn't say plus he was kind of an a-hole when we said we couldn't afford him. Since the surgeon wasn't accredited with our hmo, we sought a 2nd opinion and with the help of our hmo's liason officer, found medical center Muntinlupa and arranged for a hospital transfer. While waiting for the transfer to push through last sunday, my son peed out a black shard of something smaller than a grain of rice. It was a kidney stone. Long story short, my son had a kidney stone and did not need an operation. He's now an outpatient under the care of a pedia-nephrologist now.
