I've totally changed all my suspension parts/assembly - from control arm, ball joint, strut rod, control arm, boots, bushings, 4 brand new shocks, and etc. From left to right, front to rear, anything and everything. I've replaced/reconditioned/repaired the steering assembly including the power steering pump. I've also replaced the engine mounts and the old mount was really bad - cracks and tears and all. I also bought a pair of new headlights and bulbs, 1 set door handles, and the lock mechanism of the gas door. The engine valve cover has a new gasket including the spark plugs tube seal. I've also bought new spark plugs and I've had it oil changed. The distributor also has a new seal and o-ring. I had the throttle body cleaned as well as the Idle Air Control Valve. I also had the brakes bleed and also the clutch.
All in all, parts and labor: P50,000 smackeroos.
But, that's not all - I still need to flush my radiator and change the A/C bearings. After this, I'll buy a new set of rims and have the car finally aligned.
As for the trunk, it doesn't have a platform. The original board simply disintegrated after all those years. I think I'm going to do this myself by buying a plywood, saw it to shape and then glue the cloth and staple it from behind. Thanks to my oscillating tool, I think this job will be fast and easy. The side of the trunk does not have the plastic pins to help secure it to the sides. I'll just buy the OEM plastic pins from ebay. For the seats and carpet, I'm just going to clean it by myself with detergent. The plastic trims and dashboard will also get a lot of brushing. The glass windows will also get some polishing. I'll just do this myself because I have a polishing wool pad attached to a drill. The engine bay will also get degreased. It has so many grease marks and finger prints from the mechanics.
After all of these are done, it's straight to the paint booth. Can't wait!!
All in all, I think this is going to rack me up to P100,000 easy.
So much headache. So stressed. So badtrip.
I guess, the end result will be pretty much satisfying.
