In one of the robberies, the man just waited for the maid to open up the house early one morning & had access to everything na. Now, they don't allow stay in workers in that village. So as a precaution, would always be wise to have dogs around. If your dogs die for no apparent reason (just dropped dead), it was possibly poisoned & you'd most likely be the next robbery victim.
That was prevalent a long time ago. They once locked down the village after a robbery but the perps never left. Many villages today only allow 1 stay in laborer.

[QUOTE2701328]Once, bringing home my newly acquired car from the casa, I showed my DL to the gate guard & told him the address I was going to (which is my house, the address of which is printed on my DL). "if they can not go up to our level, we have to go down to their level."
if he were smarter than you, he would be driving the car, and you, the guardhouse.

Juan Martinez's account is suspended for 1 month for threatening a member through PM. The mods of the board are at consensus that Juan Martinez has gone too far.

    Parang dito sa amin.

Guard holding on the lowered boom: "Sir, saan po kayo?"
Me: "Uuwi na."

My friend got away with that for years. That's probably why some guards are strict even with residents.

If you live in a gated village, you'd appreciate the security, after all, that's the reason why you pay them. Just don't be complacent. You still have to lock your cars & secure your personal belongings. I don't argue with guards anymore. If they ask for the ID, I give it to them. I just hate being made to wait at the gate for confirmation from the homeowner. This is why I made it a habit to call the homeowner beforehand to expect me.

many, many years ago... when xerox was still black and white and bad...
our colleague kodaked someone's gate pass and had a color print made. he then pasted the picture behind his windshield glass. and it worked..
thinking back, i-ilan lang naman kami sa lugar na yon... i have a sneaking feeling that the guard knew what it was all about, and just let him get away with it. after all... we were considered good boys by the powers-that-be...

Fake stickers have a huge penalty now. My friend gave me a visitor sticker in a village in the South and the guard implied I had a fake sticker. The nerve. They don't even know their own stickers.

Can RFID stickers be faked ba?.

kung walang pambasang electronic gadget... titingnan lang... madaling mang-peke.
pera nga... na-pe-peke.. and if the inspector is not eagle-eyed, even HD color printers might turn out products that can pass cursory muster.

I agree. And when a home owner fully identifies him/her self , they should tone down & provide courtesy. They should be able to identify visitor from home owner and from visitor to criminals. They should recognize who provides their paycheck rather than being a robot. Otherwise they just be better off being a scarecrow.
