Sa cord naman parang ang liit nang paracord, 4mm. Less than 1/4 of an inch. Baka iba na lang hanapin ko. My brother-in-law is into mountain climbing and i'll definitely ask him for some tips.

550 paracord is size efficient and will break at 550 pounds. It's more than enough IMHO unless you plan to haul trucks...

you can unbraid it further to make nets, tying up tents and fishing line...

not sure if you can really prepare for that sort of calamity. the best you can do is secure water and food and wait for the ash fallout to subside.

I think I've seen an episode in Doomsday Preppers where a family is prepping for the possible Yellowstone eruption. Their plan is to bug out as fast as they can with the most amount of supplies they can bring.

Prepping only requires common sense. If there are warning signs, still the best thing to do is be in a safe zone. And the safe zone is anywhere farthest away from ground zero.

The most obvious is to prepare an escape plane. When to know when it's gonna erupt is the tricky part :/

The problem in our country when it comes to calamities is that our total land area is too cramped and everywhere you go there's a potential hazard.

Another concern is the Megavolcano's fallout, ie the mini ice age that can occur and lasts for years (decades). Tropical plants will surely die, what's the impact in our food chain. Are tropical residents preppers prepping for an artic climate scenario?

me I have norinco m4, norinco YL shotgun and a norinco 1911 pistol. I would be very trigger happy shooting them with their own manufactured guns when they come over our shore....

And it is quite cheap indeed. Sana may mahanap dito. I'll probably buy it in the US and have it shipped to my cousin there at ipasabay na lang sa balikbayan box next xmas.

My wife and mother already have that quizzical look when i was rummaging through the bodega to find that ww2 knife. I found it last night and brought it to a local smith for cleaning and sharpening. Will post pics later

I am prepping for that actually and from what I gather, it is best for my family to bug our in one of my relatives house in the outskirts of the city from the urban area. It is accessible by large (even 4x2 but large) or medium 4x4 vehicles only and there are safe running creeks, ponds and plenty of vegetation for food, shelter, medicine etc. It is near the shoreline as well so that fishing is an option and there are very few people in between (i think that is good). I don't think the chinese would make it a priority to find people in those areas. Plus there are hills and mountain ranges nearby just in case they do scour the whole place. Plus these mountains still has wild animals as food source and as source of scare hehehe.

Just got the old knife. Need to clean some more and find a new holster. Seem there's rust inside which a WD40 last night could not remove completely.

I've always thought of blades that are worn with scratches and stains have more character than polished ones. Kinda like how scars tell better stories than tattoos
