It would depend on how much more advanced the aliens' technology would be compared to human technology.

Example: weapons and defense systems

Does the aliens have something like long range energy based weapons and defensive "forcefields"?

We don't even have a practical surface to space vehicle that can fight in space. We don't even have a space based fighting vehicle. Anything we would throw at them would probably be rockets which would be relatively easy to either shoot down or avoid. And assuming they have forceshield technology, a direct hit wouldn't really do much damage anyway.


Maybe the aliens would be more biological based like "ALIENS". Honestly, if they get loose in any major city, they couldn't be stopped short of a nuclear strike to "burn" the affected zones.
