I saw this air cooler sa shopwise libis and it caught my attention. para syang aircon na nakatayo...it emits cool air daw and it costs Php 4T plus...50 watts and consumption (lesser consumption that other 16" electric fans)

anyone who has tried this? worth ba?

thats the aircooler that uses water evaporation to cool the air, right? I think it can cool the air by 5 to 10 degrees (against ambeint temperature) only.

Eto ata yung cooler na may water container sa likod. Pag nilagyan ng yelo, mas malamig yung hangin.

Gusto ko ring bumili sana, kasi instead of using the aircon mas tipid ito.

And medyo mahal na considering the smallest window a/c's start at Php 7k.

Hindi din ganun kalakas ang cooling effect.

Mas ok pa ang conventional electric fan since it can move large volumes of air and can help in evaporating sweat from your skin.

we had that before at halos walang effect yan... and you need a ton of ice to cool the whole room.. mas magastos pa dahil sa kabibili mo ng yelo...

    IMO, not recommended...

I would not suggest that as the so-called "air-coolers" actually use water to cool the air and at the same time, increases the humidity. In any given day here in the Philippines, especially during the summer, if you increase the humidity, you also increase the level of discomfort. Note that at 35 degrees C with low humidity would still be comfortable as compared with 28 degrees C with high humidity. My two cents...

...exactly, nung buhay pa yung ganun namen we eventually stopped putting ice or water. nakakapanglagkit ng katawan ang epek. mas malakas pa bumuga ang bentilador.

Di po pwepwede satin esp indoors.

Pag outdoors pwede, you see a lot of those sa Glorietta, Tiendesita, Market Market areas.

Sya yung tipong big fans na nagmimist ng water from time to time. Works REALLY well sa outdoors.

Madami nading golf carts na may ganun.

masama yan for indoors especially kung marami kang electric appliances, nagiging moist yung air which is bad for electronics.
