maki-ambush na din ng thread mo sir deadly. my 102 gas engine gives a subtle diesel-like sound during a cold start-up at idling mode. usually lasts for several seconds or less than a minute, pero pag uminit na pino na ang tunog at idling. i know this is not normal kase nakakaasiwa yung tunog, sobrang sensitive/OC ko pa naman sa mga ganitong issues. what could be the culprit and the "cure" na din mga bossing?

she is scheduled for her regular pms this month. makuha kaya sa change oil and tune up?

    TIA

The best is to drive it sa highway, because that will be the easiest on the engine. In the city, stop and go is considered extreme driving conditions. This does not allow the new parts to settle with one another (the main purpose of breaking it in).

Remember, the parts are new (presumably) so they will not have any wear marks, and since they are in contact with other parts now, they will have to work together properly. The reason you change the oil sooner (1000km versus 3000km for regular dino oil change) is that the parts wear out faster during a break in period because of the mismatch between the parts. Once they've settled down together, then you can change the oil so the metal filings will not damage the engine too much.

If you drive it hard the first time, you're prematurely wearing them out. This is only done when getting cars from some dealers, where some cars are already broken in.

Take it gently, and change the oil (as much as you can get out of the "original" oil) to the proper viscosity for your driving style/condition after the predetermined distance/mileage. Then enjoy the ride

yeah, ganyan din problema ng auto ko even nung bago ko pa pina overhaul, pag coldstart parang palyado yung makina na parang mamamatayan ka after 2-3 seconds biglang pipino na sa idle, akala ko after ma rebuild yung makina ko ay maayos na pero ngayon meron pa rin, i'm sure wala sa na sa makina yun dahil completely na rebuild yung engine ko, pero bantay bantayan mo na rin tong thread na to dahil ibabalik ko mamaya sa pinagpagawan ko yung auto ko for some minor issues, and hopefully mapaliwanagan ako tungkol dyan sa cold starting problem, i hope wala namang major problem sa m102 natin kasi kinakabahan ako baka sa fuel delivery system ang problema, as for the moment kasi i can't afford any repairs pa sa auto dahil sa nagastos ko na din sa overhaul ng engine ko

baka sir bumigat paa nyo.. kasi gumanda hatak ng kotse nyo..:D, everything may not be up to snuff or normal operating at this time... break it in properly, observe the response and engine behavior throughout the break in period. Change oil after 1000KM of normal driving.

update lang po mga sir medyo gumanda pa yung takbo ng engine ko fter 600 kms on my odometer ang inaalala ko ngaun is masyado atang mababa yug operating temp ng engine ko at 70c sagad na cya ng 75 on a very hot day/ heavy trafic and A/c on, may nakapagsabi sakin na ang normal operating temp ng m102 is 80-85c so ok kaya yung ganitong operating temp ng engine ko??

nahanap ko na yung culprit sa problema kong ganito, the culprit is the "Idle control valve" one way to check kung sira daw yung idle control valve mo is pag automatic transmission yung ride mo, compare the idling pag nasa P/N and pag nasa D/2/3/r, pag napansin mong tumataas ang idling pag nasa P/N eh good sign daw yun na hindi na nagsasara yung ICV mo, yun yung nangyari sakin kaya nung pinalitan ok na idling ko even at cold start, one click lang, nasolve na rin yung bad fuel consumption ko dahil dito
