To all MB 2.3-16valve owner, Bago lang po ako dito, papatulong sana ako ano ba magandang mga oils para sa engine, differential at transmission para sa 2.3-16valve 190E ko. Bagong bili ko kasi 2nd hand. Gusto ko palitan lahat ng fluids. First time ako mag ka mercedes, from nueva ecija pa ako.

Hi Jay and WELCOME!!!

I would suggest Mobil1 20W-50 or Lubro Moly 5W-40. From experience and based on availability here, I use 10w-50 or 15w-50 for cars with high performance engines --- like your 2.3-16.

Since you are still coming from far north, I would suggest a friend's shop that are really good in MBs. Shop's name is:

MIKE AND THE MECHANICS
# 71 Kamuning Road, Quezon City (between 11th Jamboree and Sct. Ybardolaza / Judge Jimenez)
(02) 9273465

Look for Mike Lugtu.

Try Royal Dragon at Linaw st. Quezon City. 7426893 look for Edra.
RLC Chuatoco 4116390 look for Mang Bert.
Lemforder is the OEM brakepads for MB although you can use Bendix, FB Biltiens. Kaya ng DIY ang change oil and filters. Pag gear oils chage sa gas station or any indie MB shops pede rin. If you still have the owners manual nandun an specs on how much oil you need and their viscosity rating.

16v owner here. I use liqui moly 10w-40 hd for the engine, redline mtl for the tranny, redline shockproof light weight for the diff. I use BMW coolant. Kayang kaya DIY sa oto na ito, as long as you have proper tools. The immediate concerns for most 16v owners are the SLS system, shifter bushings, lap timer, ICV, cold start valve and the Air fuel mixture. I am keeping mine and now have spent a lot for the car. I changed the fuel system (70L tank, vdo fuel level sensor, governor, fuel pump, fuel relay, injectors, etc), delrin shifter bushings, SLS delete, bilstein sport shocks, h&r race springs, sls pump cover, braided brake lines, 500e w124 f/r brake upgrade.. I am now waiting for my sway bars to arrive too. I have a lot of parts still lying around that I haven't installed yet due to a busy schedule. I suggest you visit www.190rev.net for tips and inquiries for maintaining your 16v. Now, my car does not ride like a benz, medyo nasa harsh side na siya but on sierra madre fun runs, ahhhhhh... rewarding lahat ng ginawa ko.. never tried it on the track though. Addicting ang hagok niya.. hehe..
